The beat and the specials i would love to see, but forgive me for being untrendy but id never heard of the Levellers until my sis told me that her son had got one of them to ring her up and say hello (apparently my nephew goes to see them all the time and is supporting them at a gig some where with his band 'sick minds') and i was like who are they? and from her reaction i get the feeling that im a bit behind the times???/

They're deffo of the tie-dyed/ cider drinking/ turning up to gigs in an old ambulance variety of bands, but very good as it goes. 'This Garden' was thier biggest hit, i think around 93? It had (imo) an ace aboriginal sound (baaad rap though lol). I have no idea where they are from, but whenever i think of them i always think of them having summer jobs picking friut on a farm in Somerset lol. That kind of thing.

I have always been a little crusty lol, i guess its from my indie youth- and quite a few of my friends were of the dogs on string type. We made the progression from pubs and beer in preston to clubs and drugs together. The die hard crusties used to love coming out to clubs with us, a dead sound bunch.

I own a sweat dreched towel used by the lead singer of the Levellers to mop his brow that my lil sis pinched off the stage when we went to see them last year (even though on closer inspection it minged big time, i'm still keeping it though ), it was top, a little picture house in Holmfirth, i had my handbag on the stage by the guitarists foot!!!!

I love the Levellers, i neglected to look at the link before i replied but in theory that's a deffo Shoomie, sounds fab from your brief description!!!

its meant to be a great festival, i set off to this last year with the missus in the works van with double airbed cramped into the back, we stopped off for a bevvy in keswick and ended up getting totally shit faced and kipping in a carpark so might just have to check it out again this year and wait till we get there befor starting on the goodies

heres another good little festival thats in its 3rd year now, i went last year and had a cracking time, great atmosfear as it has not got too big for its own good yet.
