Eh? .....................What?

Thank fook for that! I went to have my ears tested today because they haven't been right since I took a blow to one many years ago and also because i've been listened to LOUD music from being a teenager until now

I knew something was wrong with them, because the sounds coming into each ear were different!

Anyway I went to the sound room at the clinic and the audologist (?) checked my ears before giving me the sound test and said they'd need cleaning properly first, so she sent me to a doctor down the corridor to syringe them and he spent ages cleaning up the old wax. I went back to the waiting room and I could hear every little noise from people breathing to clothes rustling, it was almost deafening

I had the sound test then and the audologist said both your ears are really good, but i'll just send you into the doctor. A different younger doctor looked at the results and said "I don't know why you're here, you've got better hearing than me"

I'm quite chuffed about that as fearing the worst I thought I might have needed a hearing aid at some stage

Anyway the bottom line I guess is to keep water out of your ears as it expands the wax causing you to be deafer for a while, then when the water dries up the wax becomes harder and less likely to come out at any stage.

Gutted in a way mind as i'm probably gonna have to give up swimming but chuffed that they're in good shape

I remember you saying Neil, couldn't have been good to hear I was expecting a similar outcome

I've got some plugs mate, but unfortunately they don't work as well as i'd like them too! I still occassionally get water making it's way through and it's really annoying until the ear clears itself, but knowing about how the water affects the wax now makes me think it's gotta be done in moderation if at all

I could probably still swim ok with my head above the water, but i'm gonna have to change my technique I reckon

Hated it the time I had my ears syringed, it was a horrible sensation, and they gave up part-way through in the end because I was so cringeing and shuddering

Want to try again and not be such a daft mare next time

Horrible sensation though having a hissing sound down your ears then felling something pressing inside your ears

If they need doing then it's gotta be done though

I think these were something like £10 Neil and they're Speedo's if that means anything to you. I don't like pushing them in too far in case I do some damage, but occassionally when I turn my head the seal breaks slightly, allowing water to get in

Just gotta keep any water out of the ears and clean them once or twice a week with a drop or 2 of olive oil

It's funny that this thread should pop up coz I've had a strange hissy/fuzzy noise in me ears for about a week. It's kind of like when you've woke up in the morning after being out clubbing, but not as intense, and today they (my right one more so) feel like there's some pressure or something right down inside, a bit like the feeling of having water in there after a shower, but a bit different lol. I kind of feel like I want to shove something in there to see if I can get something out, if there is anything lol

Does that sound like anything that you guys have had, or am I fooked?

Top news though Jiglo, bet yer well chuffed!

Aye good to hear that all is well dude.

Im constantly amazed at the levels people have the headphones on at whilst DJ'n

Practically everytime I play with another DJ wether it be in a bedroom or club, the person Iv just took over from seems to have needed the levels so high that it almost makes my ears bleed. Maybe Im fortunate to have sensitive ears?
