Thanks guys

ILP get down to the doctors mate as soon as! Might just be a lump of wax stuck or something, but you're gonna have to go at some point anyway, so don't put it off

I used to have gromits in my ears (to open my ear canals) when I was little. They came out when I was in the bath one time. I was amazed when I heard things like the loo flush for the first time when I had them in coz it was so loud! lol

I think I need to get mine syringed. I got told off my docs that I need to put drops in them for about 3-4 weeks before hand. Is this true or can I blag it and say I've done it and it still work okay?

x

you're better off doing it Sonz, it will work better if the wax is softened up with drops first , makes it come away easier. Especially if it is all impacted and hard. Even if you did it for a week or two it'd be better than nowt, its just a ball ache but you'd get better results / longer lasting results

thats what they told me to do, put sum olive oil in morn and nite for a week then make an appointment to get em done, tbh i only started putting it in 3 days b4 i went. but it did hurt and i got the shudders n cringes too TC! take TC and the docs advise and do it for a week or so, u shouldnt feel it too bad then, it will be alot easier for them to suck it out so to speak

warm olive oil is good but even chemist ones shouldnt be too harsh if you just go for sodium bicarbonate ones or something

i hate the sensation of putting ear drops in too, never mind syringing makes me shudder

Nobody told me to use any kind of drops before I went

Maybe that's why it took so long to clean each ear

I wouldn't like to use drops though in case I get the water in the ear type feeling but i'll give it a shot with olive oil seeing as the specialists told me to use that and to clean them at least once a week

Well I've been to the doc's and he said there's no build up of wax and my eardrums look fine, which was nice to hear.

Looks like I have a blocked eustachian tube, so I've to take sudafed for a week, put my head over a bowl of boiling water and breathe the steam several times a day, and hold my nose and blow to force air in and the shit out.

Hopefully that's all it is....
