finaly had me eyetest.....

and as i thought, i need glasses for work!!!! (wait for all the blind ba***d jokes to come now)

not had an eyetest since..................the ones at school and that was some time ago

i managed to skank my boss into paying for the eyetest, but the cheeky fecker wont pay for the glasses even tho i only need them for pc work!!!

i know according to the DSE regs of 1992 that my employer has to pay, even a percentage would be great but he still aint budging on it

has anybody ever gone through this???

why do bosses have to be measily tight gits

Yep thats right if your workplace has provided you with an eye test and you need them specifacally for VDU usage they should provide the glasses - We have specialist opticians called duncan n todd who deal with departmental eye tests and the such - so id check your workplace's policy to start with (there should be one he hasnt got a leg to stand on if its company policy

let us know how ya get hun - be interested to learn what they come up with

my old place started funding our eye tests, then paid X amount towards your glasses (cant remember how much.....) I just had the lenses replaced in my exisiting frames so I could use their money without adding to it with any of mine, at the time

have had eyes tested since, nothings changed but ive been buying contact lenses instead . Hmmm... have never thought / asked if new place pays anything towrads this, maybe i should investigate

Tell me about it, I spent the best part of £200 on Buttys glasses and eye test!

(I managed to blag him 2 pairs of designer ones for the price of 2-even tho the offer isn't on any more-savvy shopper I am! )

I found Direct Optik in Stockport really good, 3 pairs for 1 was the last deal I got and think I spent £180 all in for that, so was chuffed, that was with tinting or whatever its called for the prescription sunglasses I got in the 3 pairs

They don't do em in an hour or owt, they send them away to their HQ in Blackburn, so you have to wait a week or so, but the deal was top and price sweet as so I was happy...

Ive not had my eyes tested for about 8 years ...and i needed glasses then! I bought a pair back in 1998 that cost me £160, they were for working as i starred at a screen for 8 hours a day and it fooked my vision up slighty. I should really go and get another test done coz im sure my sights getting worse and i never wear those glasses.

trace you gotta go n get ur eyes tested love, i could see crystal clear (or so i thought) until they did the eyetest and they make you wear them realy flattering glasses where they put diffo lenses in.............i tell ya what, it made such a difference, it was realy realy clear.

even tho i only need the gigs for work, they will make such a differance,

think im gonna wait n see if any other offers come up in the new year sales and go from there,

that offer in stockport seems like a good deal jammer, but coz i only need em for work i doubt im gonna need 3 pairs.

LOL they are mad them things, the time before I last had mine tested the guy said to me "what can you read?" I said nothing lol

Went through the same thing for a few minutes with him saying "You can't see ANYTHING at all?" - he'd only left the covers on the front of them glasses, so it were pitch black lol

I should have stood up and said "I'm bliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
