aww im well gutted just found out that iv been rejected from salford uni!!! i wanna change my ucas application tho coz i dont wanna do midwifery no more and wanna add nursing at man met but iv used all six choices. gotta c my senior tutor later n c wot iv gotta do for nursing coz i only need 3 passes to get on the course.

The chances of getting onto a midwifery course in this country are very low. My best freind is a midwife, and she had to beat 600+ other applicants to get one of the 30 places offered. Its the same with any health professional course, and you have to prove that you going to commit due to the training costs for the NHS.

You might struggle with appearing indicicive, maybe you need to make it clear in a written way (sperate from your personal statement) why you changed yur mind. I take it its the diploma as opposed to the degree you are after, in which case i think perhaps there are more places available, certainly the nurses that i have come across at uni/placement have hinted that the diploma is far easier (both is securing a place and from an academic point of view, plus you get a bursary which i belive the degree ones don't).

Good luck, make sure its what you really want and keep trying.

I was rejected from two universities to do nurse training and i'm soooooo glad!! I went and did something else which i loved way more. I was pretty gutted at the time but now i know it was without doubt for the best.

Also i had a mate who did the midwifery course and she dropped out halfway through cos she hated it, she said there's something about midwives she found, they were all really nasty and bitchy everywhere she went on placement.

Anyway, don't worry, the right thing will happen, it usually does whether you realise it at the time or not.
