Martin O'Neil walks on water !!!!

what a difference a season makes at the Villa !!!!
last season we were shite big time ! fans disheartend manger clueless, players even more clueless !!!

fast forward to yesterday against Newcastle, new manger, new owner ( nearly ) I know its a long way to go in the season but god we looked like a new side with new players, we aint bought anyone yet but the players seem to have a new lease of life, we looked solid at the back, Mellberg was superb and Agbonlahor is becoming a class player
I would love to know what O'Neil has said to the players to inspire them..just hope our run continues for the rest of the season

Changes are happening fast down the Villa, to the chants of USA USA USA...I went down at half time for my pint and Balti pie and they now have a USA style deli counter selling spicy American Panini's !!! we are so fickle lol, tasted good though !!!

come on the Villa, soon to be villa vipers i imagine ...USA USA USA USA!!!

St Martin was at the Tic for 5 year, A lot of Celtic fans think he was blessed but if you look closely at his time with us youll see for every good thing he did, there was something bad, He won 3 leauge flags, 4 Cups, Took us to the UEFA Cup Final, But, He spent more cash than any other Celtic manager, Got 1 point away from home in the Champion Leauge in 3 years, Lost 2 leauges on the last day of the season(When we were well in front), Resigned players like Alan Thompson on huge wages when they were 30plus years old, Never re-couped any cash from selling players, Put contracts to players (Bobo Balde) were they could leave the club for nothing at the end of the season,

Down South he will have much more money to invest on players, His best strength is he has g8 motivator, He allways gets the best out of players, Up here it was said he never took training sessions, Robertson and Wallford did that but i think he will do rather well with Villa, Good luck to him and Villa, Am a Arsenal fan so i need something to cheer me up just now, I allways check the Villa score and am sure there will be thousands of Celtic fans supporting the Villa.....

Agree with what Martin said a few posts above.

To add to that: IMO his squad selection (or rather complete lack of squad rotation) during the first league (we threw away) was the reason we lost that league. We were winning games 4-0 at home and he still kept the same 11 on for 89 minutes. Then he wonders why they are knackered towards the end of the season as they had the UEFA Cup run to handle that year as well.

The second league we lost was again down to poor decisions in relation to transfers and squad management. He chose to p**s all his money away on rewarding players with excessively high re-negotiated contracts (which we are only now overcoming - Still Balde to go!).

We could be going for 7 in a row at the moment! The huns would be choking on their cornflakes on a daily basis if that were the case.

There is the other small matter of style of play. Celtic fans have been brought up on a diet of passing football - I am not saying the quality has always been brilliant but the attempt to play a certain way has usually been the same. That was replaced with very route one direct football. For example, I know for a fact that MON would not even consider a very talented centre half from Europe who was fast, fantastic in the tackle and and had good distribution. The reason: the guy was only 5 ft 11". Too small for MON.

That all said I have a huge amount of respect for MON as he gave us back our winning habit, and I cannot thank him enough for that.
