A bit whoooo, a bit waaay !

Back in good ole days of being a hedonistic doleite (1991 & 1992) Income Support would only last you so long... Giro day once a fortnight was like Christmas time - & used to last as long too - everything spunked up the wall in 24 hours lol

Now in order to survive until next Giro Day we used to have to do what we had to do... which meant walking into the local Spar, buying a can of beans & walking out with half a cow under our coats

I was dead dead succesful too - innocent face n literally chat away to the lass on the till with a load of bacon down me pants

Anyone else fessin up to being a shoplifter on the sly ? Any good tales on being caught etc ?

ive never shopflifted, lol - not even when i was a kid!! i am the sort of person who would instantly get caught, hauled in front of the police and fingerprinted and put in the slammer.!!! id not last 5 mins!!

i dont have the guts to do it - id be caught red handed each and everytime!

Well I was gonna vote "never nicked owt in my life" but that would be a lie. In fact, only last week I "found" £60 which technically speaking didn't really belong to anybody

Don't normally condone stealin btw - especially not from yer own - ie real people.... however when you have no food, no money you gotta do what you gotta do... we used to steal healthy though... Holland & Barrett's security was shite

fookin blackbelt shoplifter me back in the day... just knew no fear (which any shoplifter will tell you is the way to do it)... it wasn't scran from the Spar tho... didn't have to lift to live, it was purely the niceties... stuff you really wanted but was way too expensive to buy... (so that any dosh i had could be happily spent on booze & drugs )

Had a team of 2 or 3 of us all bang into it... one on the door etc... proper artform it was, and many laughs were had... did eventually get caught though (robbing a poxy album on tape which i didn't even want) and have never done it again since... Daft thing is I was off & away with it out the shop & doon the road... stupidly went back into the same shop a couple of mins later, and got nabbed

It got silly, we'd go down the Toon on a Saturday & by the end literally could not cram anything else in our pockets. We'd go home when we couldn't think of anything else to rob... Candy from a baby it really was...

Finest hour was probably nabbing meself a pair of smaaaart Pioneer headphones (50 quid's worth, in about 1990), me mate took one look outside & loved em, so i've just turned round & marched back in there bold as brass & robbed another set for him. Rechargeable batteries were another good one (too expensive to buy, man but save you a fortune when yer caning a walkman ) along with trick bits for wer pushbikes, and (of course) literally dozens of blank tapes (no shite either... I'm talking the fiver a pop ones) Funnily enough said tapes contain to this day most of my original oldskool chewnage

I know it was wrong & that... but nobody got hurt etc.

went shopping at ADSA couple weeks ago, done me food shopping needed a new microwave, so put in trolly under food, got everything out on counter apart from Microwave paid for food, girl on counter just looked blankly at microwave and ignored it, so I walked out with microwave, alarm went off, but I had a reciept in my hands so they never checked they said they always forget to take off the alarm tags !!! result, but gutted I never picked up a bloody plasma TV now

still you got the microwave!!! so thats a result (even if it was an unintentional kinda shoplift)

can guarantee if it had been a telly youd have been nabbed going through the door and receipt would have been checked.

Anyone ever shopped at COSTCO - they check ya reciept and count the number of items on it tallys with ya receipt before letting you out the store!

I nicked a watch from school once when I was an infant. It just looked soooooooo fecking cool with it's green double strap that I wanted to take a look at it, but didn't know how to put it back without getting caught, so I took it home, got a bollocking from the parentals and was made to take it back the next day with a full apology to the crime victim

I felt so shite inside too that I never stole again
