as far as comparing JB to carrick. I'd swap em 2moro and I think most city fans would and thats because of his behaviour and not his ability |

Ive mixed feelings about him resigning, his behaviour last year was digraceful and petulant after the support the club had shown him. If he went Id wonder who we wouldve got to replace him, and young talent weve let go have always come back to haunt City. On the other hand this could be just what he needs, new contract, good pre-season, and by the sounds of what youve said hes hungry and thats top news As for Carrick, The Reds have a very good player there, when Tottenham came to Eastlands last season he ran the show. Hes an excellent passer, just what United need. 18.5 million is laughable, if it had been someone like Newcastle and he wanted to go the fee wouldve been half that...lol ![]() |

as far as carrick goes were going to have to disagree...... hes like Jamie Rednkapp was for us.....pretty passer, good when the teams playing well but never causes them to play well.... can you see man u down and out in a match and carrick driving the team on to get a result cos i can't and before anyone tells me he's not that type of player...for 18 mill he should be 8 goals is a pathetic return from 225 games, joey got 6 in 36 last year!! and takes responsability for his team.... i know for a fact when he first broke into the City team he had an almighty bust up with Keegan cos the training was to lax and all the freeloaders wheren't pulling their weight and i know that at Anfeild a couple of years ago when you beat us towards the end of the season he nearly had Danny Murphy in tears with some of the intimidation he was giving him.... the same year he kicked Vierra into row z and then asked him who the Feck he was!! he dosn't give a fuck about reputations and i know who i'd rather have in my side when the chips were down i understand he has to win the city fans over, so does he.... but i think he will....... pretty, pretty footballers are two a penny Rednapp was one lampards one and carricks one .......great when things are going well with 10 superstars behind you but shite when things arn't going to good. |

Spurs now have sold on Carrick for 18m & a massive profit, and have Jenas (arguably just as good, and also young capped & English) ready to step straight into his position... you just can't argue with business like that... It'll be interesting to see what Fergie does w/ Carrick. unfortunately I think he'll be stuck straight into the first team, whereas a few years back Fergie would have brought him in younger & put him through the Utd. finishing school & the reserves before giving him his crack in the first team. I can't help thinkling that would have been better both for United, and for Carrick as a player... FWIW I'd trade out Carrick for Joey Barton in a heartbeat. The kid's got talent to burn. He was strongly linked with a move to Toon recently & I was hoping against hope... I'm gobsmacked that O'Neill seems so close to taking the Villa job... why on earth he'd go there instead of Newcastle I just can't fathom... I know I'm a Toon supporter, but I'm trying really hard to be unbiased here... I just can't see why he'd choose that way... Anyroad, if he does go there, I'll tip Villa for top half finish & a cup next season, and champs league the season after... get yer bets on now! |

Its a case of him winning them back rather than winning them over. The whole thing last year was dealt with in the wrong way, Joey was badly advised and he should have never gone public. Thought Psycho handled himself impeccably again though. All blues wanna see Joey do well, more so as he's an Academy player, on the other hand nothing annoys fans more than one of their own "sons" becoming too big for their boots. Even more so when "big teams like Boro" are waiting to sign him. In Joeys defence though being on £15,000 a week and running your nads off for 90 minutes must be annoying when you see the likes of fat boy fowler reaping in lorry fulls of cash every week for trotting round the pitch like one of those fat pigeons in Trafalger square stuffed to the eyeballs on tourists chips.
