| Wall Filler lol! Ok this is a bit of a random question, but I thought someone might be able to help lol! I need to fill some holes in in my wall in my living room, it was where my deck stand used to be and unfortunately its left a big gaping hole in my wall I want my bond back, so need to sort it out asap. Can anyone reccomend anything to buy? Cheers

| Make sure you fill in the hole gradually with layers rather than one lump or it'll just fall out... did with me anyway lol ![]()

| *amelie raises hand in air and looks exited* Miss! Miss! i know, pick me i know the answer! If the hole is bigger than a few sentimeters, then you need to fill this first. You can use expandable foam for this, or you can buy some Pollyfillar shit designed for big holes. Then, when it is dry you sand sand off/hack out any bits that go over the surface of the wall. Idealy you want to make it slighlty concave, just a tiny bit though. Then you get your regular pollyfillar and slide over the whole thang with an old debit card, trying to squash in bits, yet still reatining a smoothish exterior. When its dry, get some fine sandpaper and just get rid of all the debris, till its dead flat and ready for painting.

| cant go wrong with the propor polyfiller stuff - can buy it ready mixed in tubs and tubes now. I used this before and its good stuff, and it is also fast drying. I also got a little tester pot of paint afterwards to paint over the offending areas with (dont forget to smooth and sand the area first and keep it free from dust before painting it) this stuff for smaller holes to fill > http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/invt/689106 the stuff on this page is what you need tbh - might have to get a small tub of ready mixed interior filler to fill the gaps in. http://www.focusdiy.co.uk/bin/venda?...temsperpage=10

| Brilliant I knew someone on here would be able to help ![]() Ive got about 6 really small holes to fill in, like the size of a big screw but the one in the middle is about 5cms diameter/circumference (whichever one lol) I have to give my keys back on Tuesday, so if I do it today will it be sorted for then?

If you don't want to spend much, roll up some newspaper and stick it in the holes, or knock in a few screws slightly smaller than the holes- just to fill it like. Then just do a few small skinny layers of regualr pollyfiller- you can even get it ready mixed at most supermarkets.

| Whilst we are on this kinda subject- anyone know how to get mug stains of tables. You know, the ring marks they leave if you have put them down when hot. Its an unwaxed pine table btw. ![]()

these people recommend Question: I HAVE A STAIN (COFFEE MUG)ON A COUNTERTOP TABLE. HOW DO I REMOVE IT? (VINIGER & DRYER)? Answer: Spread a bit of rubbing alcohol on it with a soft cloth and then turn the hair dryer to it. You’ll find that it just blows away like magic whether you say abra cadabra or not. If that doesn’t work, forget the abra cadabra and set your iron to ‘wool’, place a paper towel over the stain and iron it out. Don’t leave the iron on one spot for any more than two seconds at a time so you don’t damage things. You may have to repeat several times. Question: How to remove tea stains from a table. Answer: I'd probably try spreading a bit of rubbing alcohol on it with a soft cloth and then turn the hair dryer to it. You might find that it just blows away like magic whether you say abra cadabra or not. Alcohol it seems is the answer....I knew that already ![]() PS I am loving these handy hints http://forum.doityourself.com/archiv...x.php/f-6.html How many hints are related to getting cats piss out of clothing ?? Who are these cat owners & why haven't they tried rubbing the dirty lil bastards nose in it... ?
