its complicated and has many aspects and dimensions to it
i went on a workshop last week exploring health and astrology which was well interesting - i only did a day of it but could allready see how certain areas in a birth chart related to different aspects of a persons health and expression of ill health

Ok, Northern Minx has it right, sun signs are only part of it, you need to look at a persons birth chart really, but see what characteristics you recognise out of this lot -

and whilst it may say on those websites that she would never get on with scorpios its a crok of poo!
im a scorpio and most of my friends are aquarians, tho it is my ascendant sign so i am also very aquarian in nature!
so, what you would need to look at is the areas of her chart where friendship is shown, to see with whom she would relate easily with and not so easy with, it will also matter where her moon sign is placed as this can show how we relate to others in an intimate way

the probs with all the stuff thats written about star signs is, it is just too general - an individual birth chart is what is required for a proper analysis

D'you know you are right- its weird cos Jonno is the star sign i should clash with. As a consequence i best call off the wedding, ingnoring the fact we get on like a house on fire- after all, its written in the stars!
