I really do not want to get into an evo convo (liking the way i worded that tho lol).

I think that its the belonging that is important to such people who are getting invloved, they probs think its as much of a crock of shit as we do, yet they are searching for something for whatever reason, like in some cases its seen as a respectful thang to do- going to church and shit. For others, it makes them feel like better people as they appear righteous and all that shizznit. Some people are just desperate for company. Some poeple just need to know that there is something else waiting for them when they die, which is fair do's as i am not partic happy about the thought of rotting away, but hey i know its going to happen.

I personally would like to see all supposed belivers take a lie detec test, because lets be honest it really is daft.

Whilst we could debate the definition of "spiritual" until the second coming, I think I can confidently state that from a relgious point of view, I definitely don't have a spiritual aspect. While I don't want to speak for someone else, I think I can say the same thing for Amelie as well.

So that's at least 2 of us!

I can't say a bad word about mormons, at the end of my garden is a mormon church that's been there a few years now and a group of them live over the road from me, have to say they have not once asked me to join up or the likes of, when they moved in i bumped into them and they asked me round for tea the same day and were genuinely friendly, some months have past now and not a whisper from them.

They're probably planning something. If you've got kids I'd keep a closer eye on them just to be on the safe side, Mormons are well known for eating non Mormon children!

yea... it comes doon to how you define "spiritual" at the end of the day...
Maybe it's music that moves you spiritually... certainly does me... gets the awld emotions going (regardless of any pharmaceutical assistance)...

You could argue that a load of peeps in a room dancing like nutters to filthy house music has the same effect on the participants as the tambourine-wavers get after a sesh on a sunday morn... it's uplifting... dare i say "spiritually uplifting"...

I totally agree with Amelie's point tho that for some, religion is just about the company & the belonging & really they couldn't give a f*ck what it is they're listening to.

Newp, i do not have a spiritual bone in my body. I reck, from a purley biological aspect that we are just a clollection of cleverly organised cells that eventually stop respiring for whatever reason, wether it be age, disease or trauma. Thats it, i don't belive we have a soul, i don't belive we live on or go to some heavan. Same as with an ant, or a fish, we are merely a living organism that has a time limit, and when our time comes we jus cease to exist, the machine stops working so to speak.

I don't think that means you don't have a spiritual bone in yer body...
I'm right with you on the above, but would definitely consider myself to be a spiritual person.

Yeah, i obviously have moments of feeling a great sense of happiness, completness etc- but its always with a sense of mortality- never Godlike. I never ever think i feel the way i do because of some higher being, its usually due to an occurance of events, people or just my own frame of mind.
