My mate must be the only Englishman to want Portugal to win tonight, cos he had £20 on it being an Italy v Portugal final before the tournament started, 50/1 he got.

I've got to say I was very disappointed with the result myself last night

I've got nothing against the Italians, it's just that I'd adopted Germany as my team after England went out!

I switched off the telly after the first Italy goal went in.

What a cracking game tho...
I thought the Eyeties turtley deserved it mesel like... already hit the bar/post etc... plus as Debs said you can't deny they were two cracking goals.

Very pleasantly surprised by Jurg's lads tho & did feel sorry for them going out, but if we can't win it, then there's no way I'd want the Jarmans to.

Why though?

The Germans don't cheat, they don't fall on the floor like they've been shot if anyone breathes near them (if a German player goes down then you pretty much know they're injured), they don't run up to the ref to get players sent off, they're not greasy or slimey or over theatrical when they miss. They're pretty much just like us in fact, except they speak a different language.

The only thing they've done is beaten us quite a few times (especially at penalties!). That doesn't make me dislike them though, because they always won fair and square (unlike Argentina in 86 or Portugal this time round for instance).
