what IS weird (imo) is that chippys round here dont have beans on the menu now thats just ridiculous. Sausage, chips n' beans is a classic chippy meal, surely?! when i moved here and had my first chippy visit I asked my housemate how come they didnt have beans and he looked at me like i was mad and reckoned hardly anywhere does.

So settle this : DOES YOUR CHIPPY SELL BEANS?! ( I'd do a poll but i dont know how)

No. Beans? are you MAD?.

Sometimes you get them at college cafe's, never ever known of a chipshop selling beans . Peas maybe, thats about it.

Of course our chip'oil sells beans! They all do, dont they?? a chip'oil wi'out beans sounds like hell on earth.....maybe it's just an east lancs thing??

Not all ours do gravy either. some do , some dont.

The odd one does those minging looking battered mars bars too, tbh though I thought that was a more northern thing, was surprised when i first saw them appear on the menu at the local one years ago . Cant say Ive ever been tempted to try one as yet though

chips n beans WTF...thats not chippy tackle , maybe the greasy spoons'll do it...im against fish with gravy though as shown in shooms pic...thats a steak pudding dinner with a fish put on for the photo.....Anyway u bastards i dont get any of that anymore , its all kebab type things over here...I want a chippy !!!

Errm, same here mate . Theres only 2 traditional fish and chip shops in the whole town now, there used to be about 10, the rest are now neon clad Halal Burgers, Fried Chicken, Kebabs and Pizza Parlours, or other takeaways that do fish and chips as a kind of side business, and they are all absolutely shite imo. Soggy 'fries' in a f'king polystyrene box, limp dick pizza's and they dont seem know how to cook a good fish and chips. I dont do kebabs or the chicken on principle, even if Im starving......but I bet they would come with beans if you ask lol.

The beans in a chippy thing really is a new one on me, lol. Ive been to my fair share of them in Lancashire and Yorkshire, and never seen them on the menu.....

Is it a midlands thing? I know the southerners have some funny options in thiers, like pickled eggs, and they dont do gravy or somet......how bizzare
