Why do goldfish not swim into the side of the tank???? Surely they have no concept of glass......so why do they know where to turn??

lol, i would say they most likely learn from repeated boinking of the snout against the glass surface. over time this should engrain a general sense of confinement awareness, overriding their magnificent supposed 3-second memory span ( )

Glad that one's been solved

I'm wondering if too much chlorine in the swimming pool today was responsible for making me cough like I had bronchitis as well as stinging my eyes

My 2 cents, well i cut the eyes of my nephews goldfish mad prof stylee to get to the bottom of this question, i was suprised to find that even with no eyes it didnt bang into the side of the bowl, putting this down to the fish knowing distance swam yadda yadda i swung it round by its tail, not suprisingly tho when i put the little fella back in the bowl he went belly up

RIP Jimbo, your life was short, but your death served science!

I couldn't help coughing in the pool, but it was even worse in the hot tub where it felt like my lungs were going to give way

Unsuprisingly nobody else was using it today.

eeek not good m8, was there a potent smell of chlorine?

I know at my gym they clean them out quite offen and the young YTS lad gets a bit amourous in his work, stank to high hell of the stuff at the weekend.

There certainly was a strong smell of it and the lifeguard was quick to point it out after I started choking.

I wasn't sure if it was something else making me cough though, because there was only 2 of us coughing in the pool
