Aye the Machine Gunners was turned into a cracking series too.

Hopefully taught a few potential thugs that "British boys fight with their fists" and not weapons.

I probably spent many a hour looking for an old World War 2 warplane that had been shot down so I could remove it's machine gun

I won a book every week in primary school in the general knowledge quiz that our teacher gave us - until she banned me from taking part to give the others a chance I always chose the Super Gran's, Adrian Mole's and other popular books in the series of those we'd recently read, plus the science fiction and mystery books
