Agony!!

I feel that I must share with you all the pain I am going through at the moment. I played 5 a side football on friday night for the first time since leaving school 13 years ago. Apart from weight training (which isn't cardio at all) this is the first time I have done anything so physical. After 10 minutes of running round I found myself not really giving a toss about the score, defending or tackling, more concearned with staying upright and not collapsing into a sorry heap!! My god I was knackered

All weekend I have ached in every single muscle below the waste, and some muscles I forgot I had (bar one)!! To the point where it was painful to even drive. I found myself lowering myself into the car by grabbing onto the roof. My walk resembled that of Mrs Overall from Acorn antiques!! I have felt completely disabled. you know your in a bit of a state when you bend down to tie your lace and think "What else can I do while i'm down here!"

The stairs were the hardest battle. Never had I thought that i would be only 29 when the thought of a stanna stairlift installation would be "a good idea".

I still ache today, 3 days later!

I hear ya.

Last year sometime I went playing squash for the first time in 10years. Didn't really feel it whilst playing but for the next 2-3 days, I could bearly walk - I was a laughing stock at work

Its even got a name....squasher's arse!! (they could have warned me)

edit: just read that back, and no, my playing partner was not called bubba!)

I`m with u on that, I used to play full time for a while on the circuit and lived for fitness. Last month i played my 1st match after not hitting a ball about 3 yrs and i felt like i had been stamped on by a pack of horses for 3 days after.

Tonight I just played the 3rd match and ripped my calf on the last point on crutches now, pisser.

Yes not a teenager anymore.

LOL! I really should have refrained from reading your post. I have just been to enquire about joining our local gym and you have just given me the perfect excuse not to bother

You know it makes sense. Lets all accept our getting older and do it gracefully - lol...deal??

That is except for Lee who I imagine right now is running up and down Chorley Town Halls' couple of steps to the Rocky theme tune

I'll meet you halfway. I'll accept that I'm getting older but I can't do it gracefully and I will still try and lie about my age if I can get away with it
