mum's and computers ...lol

i was just wondering...is anyones mum any good at electrical stuff, pc's, dvd players an the like ...?

i can think of plenty of older blokes who can use em... but i cant think of any women.

my mum's pretty useless lol. she cant work the video let alone sky or owt!!

someone must have a mum who's in the 21st century ....anyone.?

I sat with my Mum for 3 hours, to show her how to turn on my step Dads computer (mission), and sign in to msn, I set her up a hotmail account, and set it so her password and username are stored....I came back home, 2 mins later there's a phonecall, I cant get it to work, so I talked her through it again on the phone...

then she types a message, that took her 10 mins, that said 'hello how are you?'

I set a yahoo email account up for my mum a bit back.

A while after she had some piccys I wanted to see, so I asked her to email em to me.

When I give her my hotmail email addy, she said ' but i cant send you them, I can only email other people with a yahoo account can't I'

my mum aint that bad when it comes to stuff like that, the worst she can do is break it!!

with the computer she aint that bad, but electrical stuff i always get roped into doing it or switching leads or plugging in etc......

on her old tv tho for some reason she kept wiping the memory off the tv so the channels kept buggering up and i had to keep coming round to re-tune it!!

I think mums are not very good with computers, one day i said to me mum here lets get you doin some typin on the computer, so it looked like she was gettin the hang of it, anyway i had to pop off to the lav like , couldn't beleive it when i came back me new tft flatscreen was plastered in tip-ex mad or what...

my mum aint too bad but shes had plenty of advice from me plus she was a secretary for years so is pretty good wiv em, shes quite happily burning disks and making up proper cd inlays in easy cd creator.

My mum is terrible. When she got her first microwave some 15 years ago, i remember she used to run out of the room after switching it on as she was convinced she would be either cooked or 'catch ' cancer if she stood too close to it!
