Don't take me wrong, but that's the problem with the Da Vinci code. Everyone takes it all as fact. There may be some elements of truth in there, the odd factoid, but that doesn't make it all fact.

What it is is a jolly good read.
What it isn't is something to put too much faith in

I did a bit of web browesing after reading it as there is that many different "true" facts - not all religious btw. The Worlds Most Beautiful number - how interesting is that!!

The way the book describes the holy grail is also al ot of other peoples belief as well - its just someones version of how religion is

no worries mate

what didn't u like about the end?

i really liked the book, as long as u keep in mind that the story isn't real, it just has references to real beliefs & plces etc, then u won't be disappointed.

Ian M Banks

fair play - this geezer pens some real meaty reads... get involved if you like witty thrillers, observations on society and general intelligent story telling.

His sci-fi is dark, sinister, funny, and a gripping read. Imagine the same sort of mad stories as per his terrestrial novels, but set in a mad society of people that have drug glands which they can control by thought (his latest book which I finished last week had a despot warlord who had a genitically modified penis that allowed his tool to morph into some rather unpleasant weapons that could cause serious physical damage to whatever he decided to stick it in [male or female, or alien!]... and thats before the poison-laced effluent he spurts out works its way to the victim's brain), are general lushes and bon viveurs.

As you can see, I quite liked it.

Seconded on Banks

I've read everything he's done, apart from the Algebraist but as it's now in paperback I'll be reading it on holiday.
