When i read the opening para, i really got a horrible beating heart when she describes what it feels like to be killed, i must admit i got a little upset. But after that its more bittersweet than morbid.

Deffo one of the best books i have ever read, it has huge acclaim and accolades galore. Get it!

I read this whilst away on holiday, I have to say..... what a quality book!!! I liked the little twists in it which keep u interested..... it really is a book u dnt wana put down!

I tell U what else I read on holiday...... like to read while I'm away and read 4 books!!!!! Apart from reading "The Lovely Bones" I read....

GANGS- its about a guy that writes about different aspects of gangland Britain, he writes chapters on heroin, cocaine, people smuggling, synthetic drugs, kidnap etc etc. Its fascinating as he gets in with all these ppl who are in the heart of it all and they all tell him the ins and outs of eveythin, very good read!

"The Lost Boy" and "A Man Named Dave"- These are the 2nd and 3rd part to this guys life story (sort of Autobiographies if u like) of thi guy who was badly abused as a child and got rescued. These are the tales of him in foster care finding out who he is and him as an adult (A Man named Dave). They (and the first book, "A child called 'it'" are truely movin books, I cried and some of the stuff this guy goes through is truely heart-wrenching but they are so well written and definately worth a read!!! read the last 2 books in a day each!!!

Thanks for all the replies & bumped to go with the new thread on books just posted.

I've read the "child called it" trilogy and they were really harrowing to think that a boy can go through all that but I don't think he put himself across as a victim at all, I think he just gave a factual account of his life.

I finished the Da Vinci Code, went out and bought all the other Dan Brown books and I'm not reading them all!!!

Cheers Amelie - I'll have a look at that book about the little girl, it sounds really interesting.

Doolz - not sure I'm really ready for the world of quantam physics mate - it's all a bit beyond me
