Am liking the sounds of this one but the geezar in the shop the other night didn't have a clue about it.

To be honest I'm not sure about text pricing as I don't do many. If you do a lot then this might not be the phone for you, everything is touch screen input and, although you can get a "phone pad" display on the screen it's nowhere near as quick as buttons. I got it for all the toys, mainly media player and games plus calendar/email sync for work. As a phone/text machine it's no more than "OK".

Try and have a play with one to see how you get on if you are a big texter, or at least make sure you've got a return option.

also he WAS a wheeler dealer and still is!!!

The MDA compact is a quality bit of kit.

However, the best 'phone' to get hold of this year is the Sony Ericsson K750i. We're launching the silver/blue D750i later in the month.

Get on the search for the reviews, you'll find a 2MP camera with auto focus (far better than the S700i unit), bluetooth, 256k screen, 3D games, memory card, high battery life.

Yeah, I knew that was coming but patience never was a virtue of mine. I'd been planning on getting the mda for a couple of months before my contract game up.

To give you an idea of my planning, April next year is new contract renewal and as of now it'll be an N91!

I'll give you a few reasons why the K750i/ D750i is better than the equivalent Nokia.

The 2MP camera is leagues ahead of anything Nokia are churning out in the same form factor (small candy bar phone). It's actually the best on the market.

The gaming is better due to the ability to use multiple directional keys at the same time.

The screen dumps on the Nokia TFT screens, although they are possibly slightly behind Samsung's.

The MP3 sofware is more functional. You can't even forward or rewind tracks on the 6230.

The battery life is better, possibly upto twice that of the 6230i looking at the sepcs.

All none Nokia's take a bit of getting used to, especially Sony Ericssons. However.. Nothing a weeks work of hammering can't sort.

The only reason to go for a 6230i over the D750i is the familiar interface, which quite frankly isn't good enough to warrant a purchase when both can be picked up for nowt on a new connection.
