| motor Vehicle trackers if a vehicle was fitted with a tracker so it's position could be monitored, for instance, lets say a ford transit van. where would it be, and how could i find out if the vehicle had one or not for sure just by lookin at it? I'm gonna have a look on the net myself, see what i can find out what i need to know, but if anyone can help please reply to this thread. thanks

work's bein a pain in the arse, they're bullshittin me about a couple of little things. but basically the other driver has been takin the piss doin other things in company time and basically fucked it up for me. he took 3 hours to get from Liverpool town centre to warrington the other day ffs. it takes about 45 mins. i just wanna find out if it's possible if the vans have a tracker fitted? and if it's possible can they see where i am at any given time by lookin on the net or somethin if it does have a tracker fitted? if it was possible, a few things would start makin a lot of sense. I hope it's not the case to be honest cause it would do me head in initially. I'm probably bein a bit far fetched like lol. but if I'm not it could prove to be a lot of fun for me too.![]()

anyone knows as well as i do, if they made random stop checks of ya van by a private body you'd have to be made aware of it, who it was that stops ya, how to identify them because who in their right mind would just let someone just stop you and look in ya van. now for 1. if someone tried to stop me and look in the van who i didn't know on the street I'd shit meself and run or drive off or belt him and drive off. unless it's a police officer i wouldn't stop for nobody and let them check me van no matter who they said they was. so who they tryin to kid? me obviously lol i mean, it wouldn't be that much to track ya were-a-bouts now-a-days i would have thought. trackers aint that much and not for a decent sized company like ours. once ya got the tracker in, a couple of ton a year subscription tops. I've heard a myth about companys doing this, but never came accross it myself before. i was quizzin one of the lads who's a shit liar like me, just a couple of things he said made me a bit paraniod and made me wonder if they have a way of knowin where i am during the day. he was very scetchy and you could see, he wasn't happy about havin to keep things from me, so i didn't push him too much. the plot thickens. they're probably just tryin to fill my head with shit to keep me inline, instead of just bein honest and straight up. but they're doin it really badly and takin me forra tit basically, which is the thing that's doin me head in more than anythin. i think it's more aimed at the other driver and they have to do the same with me otherwise it looks like they're victimising him and they think I'm dead pally with him cause i talk to him more than anyone else so they're being carefull what they say to me. but i don't like bein bullshitted to and i hate office politics. ![]()

| http://www.livetrak.co.uk/overview.asp It is possible your being tracked m8 lol The devices are small and dont really need an aerial as they have an active antenna so you would never know if fitted. |

| They fit them in a multitude of places, and use 2 forms* to communicate with them via upto 9 satellites to get the exact position. * GPS (Global Positioning System) & GSM - the mobile phone system. You can pay to have detailed reports done. Here's some of the services offered. -- Navigate If you are lost, or in an unfamiliar area we can find you and give you turn by turn directions to your final destination. -- Autotrak If you want to know your vehicle's whereabouts, just get on the phone. It's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You call Autotrak, key in the phone number you want the report delivered to, along with your personal pin number. When we have found you vehicle's precise location and status, i.e. parked or moving and the name of the road, a report will be delivered to your phone as a voice message to a land line or an SMS text if you call from your mobile. -- Journey Diary << This service records every single journey the vehicle makes and a full report can be delivered by email or fax, ideal if you use your vehicle for business, i.e records for tax returns or claiming back business mileage, or simply to find out where your driver has been. These reports can be obtained weekly or monthly. Big brother is watching. ![]() |

| The ones in our company vans are small white plastic boxes, a bit bigger than a box of kitchen matches. They go somewhere under the dash or under the bonnet, all they need is a single power lead into the fuse box. System is cheap and shite. Units always getting confused by apparently 'freak satellite interference' that screws up the date & time so the history logs show random dates 20-30 years in the future! This happens quite often, so I'm sure the guys in the van have found a way to break 'em! Stops their timesheets being checked against the van locations!

they've now give me and the other driver a sheet to fill in listing each drop and in what order we do them. saying we want you to fill this in just so we don't have to phone you up and find out where you are. they'd still have to phone up anyway to find out where we are at any given time. so thats just rubbish too. what's the legalities regarding trackers anyway. if your employers had a tracker fitted to monitor your where-a-bouts during workin hours, do they not have to tell you as an employee drivin the van?
