Highly Reccomended CD: The Mashup Mix

http://www.ministryofsound.com/eflye...ations/mashUp/

Just got hold of this and it is refreshingly original - a well worthy successor to prodigy's Dirtchamber Sessions, give it as go - you won't regret it!

Cheers tigs.

Is it one of them cd's where the only decent part of the cd is played on the advert and the rest is pap?? Typical.

Prob just get a legitimate genuine copy anyways.

Danny please do ... I'd be interested to hear what you got to say

Personally I don't think its a patch on the Soulwax/Richard X/Freelance Hellraiser/Osymyso/Go Home Productions stuff that was around a few years ago

haha, bet u would

you've used good examples in the all the above .... but when they 'mash' (i hate that word) up tracks, the above ie. 2 many djs, erol alkan, even king unique are doing this well now etc etc ... they use classy stuff, classics or tracks with proper recognition so to speak, or even quality house music .... this stuff is the devil 'mashed-up' cheese which has been put in a blender and come out mouldy one might say no reasoning behing any of the accapellas over the tracks, theyve just taken the first accapella theyve come across and slapped it over something with a beat .... some dont even fit which doesnt make sense to me one bit ..... if your gunna do this sort of thing it needs to be done well and these boys have just made me laff my head off could go on for hours but i wont bore yous .... sorry again lads, just my views

oh and btw, not that mixmag is owt to go by coz they think morillo's new tracks are good check their review of this cd ..... by my recollection its the first time an album in the magazines history has ever recieved zero stars ..... and i have to agree with em hehe

and again, this has nothing to do with the fact that these two lads dj'ed @ our uni's student union last wednesday!! i was a mad man at the end of that night i can tell you lol

What were they playing when they played out Danny??

Does Erol Alkan still do the bootleg thing - he was Kurtis Rush wasn't he - I thought he had moved on to "proper" house?? - Im sure I had a mix CD of his off Muzik (RIP) that was a good house mix - maybe a bit electroclashy??
