Personally, although I hate the prayer mat loving traitor and despise his extremist "Loony" Leftwing bafoonery on many levels, I dont think he should appologise. Infact I think he is spot on in so far holding his ground against the increasing pressure to do so.

Ive heard the paper he is facing is tough on immigration and 'asylum seekers', and by the sounds of it a common sense paper in my opinion lol, so I should be on thier side, but alas, aside from the views of the newspaper, the principle Ken is standing behind is one that in my opinion is sound and worth a good fight.

The remarks were 'offensive', thats what they were set out to be, he aimed to piss these journalists off that was the point. He was curt, shortshrift and nastyish, and that shouldnt be a crime. The fact he was Jewish in my opinion has nothing to do with it, the analogy used was worthy of anybody.

The remarks were not antisemitic by a long chalk, and anyone who thinks they are, are severely wrong in the head in my opinion and need a damn good wake up call, and are part of the problem of this country.

There is now talk by Tony B(liar) to 'move on' and that he should just appologise and get on with it (keep it neat etc), but asmuch as I dislike Ken and his views, I have to stand by him and say 'good on you' for sticking two fingers up to those that are using the words Nazi, Antisemitic, racist, etc and severely over reacting. What is amusing is such a fellow falling under his own trap!!!! lol. Now THATS funny! . hahahah.

One thing is for sure, now the media have taken such a big bite into this story, and inane calls from *some* Jewish Groups for action against Ken will surely see this escalate. Its not going to simmer down until they have had thier 'meat' and either forced him to sway to loony PC and left establishment ideals, or got rid of him from being Mayor (which I wouldnt be too bothered about really).

People are saying because he has a high position he should appologise, however, its the principle of the thing that matters, not his role. His position has no relevance to whether what he said was 'racist' and antisemitic etc, and Im sure we should still have the right to cause offence as and when we see fit, its a right that was hard faught for.

The machine has been started, can Ken stop it? Thats the question, or will he crumble like a biscuit when put under pressure, or forced out for something so inane? lol.

I think its a who-harr about nothing, so Im not expecting many of you to answer this one cos its not exactly intresting lol.

Tbh i haven't followed this propley, but from what i gather hasn't he made some remarks to a jewish journalist, something along the lines of asking him if he was a war criminal and then saying to him that he was just like a concentration camp guard!! EEK! Probably not the best of things to say!

I think he should apologise, esp after Tony Blair has publicly asked him to, wouldn't look right if he didn't. As a mayor he should set an example and be totally P.C about everything he says, most of all though, he was just being rude!

News report regarding the harrasment by a newpaper against Ken:

On tape the mayor is heard asking Oliver Finegold if he is a "German war criminal". (Unaware of an Jewish link)

Mr Finegold replies: "No, I'm Jewish, I wasn't a German war criminal. I'm quite offended by that."

The mayor then says: "Ah right, well you might be, but actually you are just like a concentration camp guard, you are just doing it because you are paid to, aren't you?"

also why should his position make the thing 'right' or 'wrong' as a situation?

At the end of the day, he's supposed to be settin an example. It clearly was to piss these reporters off. If i was him I'd publicly appoligise to the jewish comunity for any offence he may have caused, explain his reasons for sayin what he did, and say i don't appogise to the particular person/people he set out to hurl abuse at as they are cunts. (not in those words obviously)

to be honest i think the mans a bit of a dick anyway, he should know better and is not exactly throwin a good light on himself or his intelligence by draggin this out any longer than he has to. if he had any sense he would do what needs to be done to get this one out of the way so he can concentrate on important things rather than defending a few silly coments which were pretty sad anyway, and not even amusing.

Well, like i have said, i havent followed this at all really, just heard bits n bobs on the tv, (so im an open target for you! )but if he has made a remark about him being a german concentration camp guard then surley thats going to set afew tongues wagging? I think somebody with his authority should think before he speaks as something like this could be blown out of all proportion , Prince Harry wearing the Nazi uniform is a good example of this. He was heard on tape, and that tape is open for everybody to listen to and to make remarks on, wheather they think anything is wrong about what he said is a different matter.

I'm sure as he said it he wasn't even thinking about what he was saying, but come on, you make a remark to a jewish person about nearly anything to do with concentration camps or all things hitler and you're setting yourself up to be hung drawn and quarted, he should have known this, i say....apoligise and just say it was a silly misthought comment, then he can go on about his day.

Well because he's a politician ffs, i didn't say he had to appologize for what he said and who he immediatley said it to. i said he should oppologize for any offence he may of caused to the jewish comunity who he was not intending to offend.

you can't get caught on tape saying things like that when you're a high profile politcian without expecting to explain yourself to your voters who have maybe taken offence to somethin you've said (rightly or wrongly) even if it is twisted by the media.

it's called comon sense m8, to be perfectly honest. For him to just say, oh I can't be bothered explaining myself to everyone cause it's all been twisted and i don't have to, well, just makes him a bigger dick, a shit politician and someone who's voters are going to think, 'Well he doesn't really care about what i think'

I don't know about you, but I'd care if someone thought I'd really offended them and I really hadn't, I'd want them to know it wasn't meant in such a way and explain why.
