the butterfly effect

as i know a lot of you like this film, me included, was a bit shocked when i watched it again on cable the other day.

originally i'd 'obtained' a copy elsewhere and it turned out this was the directors cut..so was a bit surprised when watching it the other night i noticed bit's were missing and then to top it all a really lame ending stuck on..the one on cable/sky now is the 'theatrical' release, the one shown in cinemas.

anyway if you've only seen the version with the crappy 'happy' hollywood ending i'd suggest renting or getting hold of the directors cut, it keeps the film the way it was intended & gives you something more to think about..

i've just been looking over on imdb and there's plenty of differences between the 2 versions, some i'd forgotten about and i think the start of both is different as well, i missed the first few mins the other night. general opinion over there is that the directors cut is definately the one to watch, got to agree myself, the other version kinda smooths things over and i can't see why they'd release it to be honest..probably the americans wanting a more 'happy' ending..

But the so called happy ending was actually more tragic. lol I cant really explain why because I'll give the plot away. But both endings are sad in different ways. Either ending, excellent film peeps

Right, i finally got round to watching this film last night, after god knows how long!!!! It was the dirctors cut that i watched and now i want to know what happened in the other version!!

Really good film, it did pickle my head a bit though with the whole "what if that hadn't happened" thing, got me thinking about stuff in my own life which i could have done without really but hey ho!!!!!

I've got 21 gramms to watch tonight thanks to the get one get one for a pound offer at my local DVD shop!!!

I've only seen the directors cut but I do rate this film. I like a film thats clever and actually makes sense (/me urinates on his copy of donnie darko and all his david lynch films (except Dune))

Did anyone else think that its possible that the two who came before him came to the same conclusions? (apologies if thats a big vague but I don't want to ruin it).
