Totally agree, he was influencial in many of the underground music scenes. Probably the only DJ that played anything non mainstream on his show.

no shit, I used to listen to him on Radio one, not that long ago either, he was off his head.

Chris Moyles always fucked about with his shit and he didnt know what day it was when things went wrong it was well funny.

He knew he tunes like, and a wide range of them

Just read it on the radio one web site he was on holiday with his wife and kids and just died of a heart attack very suddern death as well, very sad

Just found this news out half hour ago, and im in a total state of shock....John Peel is a legand

This guy is a total hero for me, with the way he believed that music should never be put into sections, and that it should be admierd for its true passion (something that is very close to my heart)

R.I.P Sir Music.....and may he forever be rememberd for Bringing The Undertones - Teenage Kicks to the ears of a nation, and showing people what true geniues can be created in such poetic musical form
