I've given up on mine. We get post about twice a week at about 2 in afternoon.


I just get everything delivered to work now. Is a well better service for some reason.

Sod the postmen - some git in wigan sorting office is nicking any envelopes with cd's in, in case there's owt good on em - so far only 2 out of the 6 cd's we've sent out in the last couple of weeks have made it to our clients!!!!

get on this though super, we had 2 records delivered the other day!!! the postie knocked on the door and said ' 2 records here, special delivery your supposed to sign for them but i havent got the form-lables so sorry luv' how mad is that!!!

on here, do you lot actually think the postie just arrives when he wants to..bullshit!!
All delivery staff start at 05:00 nationwide. First of all the mail for the whole covering area needs to be sorted upto for upto around (100,000) delivery points (covering household and business drops) per delivery office taking into account that some may recieve on average 5 items of post making half a million items manually sorted. Next stage the postman has to take his own mail for delivery and then sequence sort it into his walk taking into account that the average delivery has 500 delivery drops and the average of 5 items per drop thats resorting another 2,500 items.
Next he has to deal with recorded delivery items and make sure all the sticky labels are placed on the cards ready for you to sign next to.
After that he will go and pick up the priority service items and get them prepared for delivery.
After that he will deal with redirecting mail and returning mail to senders "Gone away" etc.
Then they have to deal with muppet customers who insist on not putting the correct address information on the envelope and hope the postie will turn into miss marples and deliver it to the correct door!
All his mail is then packed into bags at 16kgs (maybe up to 8 of them), and once all his other little bits and pieces are done he will go out on delivery.

Oh and you may find that if your posties arriving at 15:00 afternoon time it maybe that he started at 5:00am has done his own delivery and has returned to the office maybe out of the kindness out of his own heart to take another one out???


Sorry but if you just think that your postman turns up at 5:00 am in the morning and everythings ready for him just to pick up his bag and go out the door then you've been smoking far too much skunk. (err that would be the whole of the uk then minus the postal workers LOL)

So please don't cuss the posties they do work hard. Yes DJJAMMIII WORK if you know what that is.....

sorry to annoy you.......i know how hard posties work my family has two in it and my boss's husband and son are posties too, but it does get annoying when he only gets there gone dinner when i only live up the road from the sorting office! and dont even get me started on the christmas temps that they take on that keep pinching my ps2 games!!lol

no really i appreciate having me stuff delivered to my door for less than 30p a stamp and when some of me stuff went missing last year, the complaints dept were brill and sent me a lovely cheque for more than i asked for.......nice one

I have all my tunes delivered to work as i aint in to sign for the ones that come recorded. I get mine on my desk every morning as the sorting office is just next door
