Hmnnn, its an odd one.

Imo, and through experience i find it difficicult to imagine that you can actually fall in love with someone at a mere glance. I meet people and think 'wow, they are pretty perfect', but that is only visually. Usually when they open their mouth it changes, and subsequenly the beauty is suddenly not so profound. I met my last boyfriend through here, and through observation of his posts, and then through communicating through pm's and graduating to extremly long telephone coversations i would say that i started to fall really hard before we met physically. I communicate with lots of people, but somehow that time it was different, something clicked.

I agree with Nathan on a few things, i think its only when you start spending real time with someone can you really love them, and what they are becomes the example of all things great. Say, the way an individual pulls shaving faces, well that becomes very nice to observe all of a sudden. Or the way someone sits when watching tv, now a million other people may sit like that but its the way that they carry it off that makes it so unique.

I think the whole internet thing is really odd, i think it makes you very brave and upfront- and things that perhaps should have followed a more slow progression become very intense. I think its fabulous if you can meet 'the one' on a forum or in a chatroom, but i also think it can be extremly hardwork, and can lead to feelings of disapointment. What you actually get on a daily basis may not quite what you had imagined.

I guess it depends on your definition of love. IMO real love has to be reciprical and you have to know you deserve each other and that you both feel the same way. After all anything less is a compromise and life is too long for compromise.

but i now know different ..

Is this what's classed as being a snob? I've had this discussion with a housemate about the very same thing, as I can't stand the Stockport 'scally' sounding girls, they are like clones, and some look inbred, which is a little worrying too.

He reckons I'm a snob for preferring "well spoken women" but it's just a preference isn't it.

I can't help think that if I met an interesting, nice looking woman, who shared the same interests (decent music, excellent movies, and getting mashed) that if she had a horrid squalky voice, I could put up with it? I know people have quirks and flaws, but that's something that I just couldn't get past lol
