Racism on the board!

Right I know this thread will probably get removed as soon as a mod sees this!! But in the mean time I'm gonna air my views!!

Ok, many of you seem to thing it's OK to use the term "paki" or tell an offensive joke because you know Asian people or have friends who are black etc etc, that old chestnut!! You know who you are, and you know what I'm talking about!!

Well lets one thing straight. Racism is not exceptable in any way shape or form.

All racism or degregation does is segregate our society and cause a lot of unessesary suffering such as war, abuse, society deterioration and reverse racism back to you lot!!!

Before the Anti-PC bregade gets on my back and uses this "the world would be a better place without political correctness" bollocks. I'd just like to point out, this is nothing to do with political correctness. This is to do with having respect our fellow man/woman and discouraging our world to become a place of mixed up pathetic xenophobes who unknowingly add to the destruction of our already fucked up world.

Sorry to everyone else for such an uncheery thread, but someone needs to say something, coz there's far too much racism on this forum!!

Peace, Miz

I'm sure some of that top post is aimed at me, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Just a couple of points though, and I'm not having a go at anyone...

Without getting into the 'PC' debate, that's another topic lol, but I really think that the term racism gets banded about far too much these days. Telling a joke about about a black person doesn't make someone a racist. What makes someone a racist is someone who negatively discriminates against people because of where they come from, and not someone who who tells a tongue in cheek gag.

The whole racism thing is getting so overused and out of control now in this country, and the blacks and asians seem so keen to "play the race card" every time something doesn't go their way. Eg. They get turned down for a job - and then they accuse the employer of being racist. Maybe it was just that he wasn't good enough for the job.

What really gets my back up the most though is this: I'lve lost count now of the number of times I've heard stories like this on the news.... "An 30-add year old asian man as done blah blah blah..... " I mean, why do they feel that it's necessary to state the race of the person. It was just a dude. Why not just say "A 30-odd year old man as done blah blah blah...."

The second thing that gets my back up is this: I'm sure you've all heard of that great idea to try and recruit a certain amount of black and asian police officers by a certain date - whatever it is. Why? Why the feck, do they give a shit about the skin colour of the policemen? Why not give someone a job as being a copper because they excelled themselves in the interviews, and not base it on skin colour in any way shape or form? If a asian guy wants to join the police, then that's great, but don't give the job to him if there's a better qualified white guy who's also applied. If there's ever a time when I need urgent police assistance then I want to know that the best guy for the job is going to come and help me out. I don't give a fuck what colour he is, just as long as he's the best man for the job.

OK, nearly done

A mate of mine applied to join the fire brigade about 4 or 5 years ago. He got through the first couple of interviews no probs, and then went for his physical. Again, he got through that no probs. In fact he pissed it, as most of the others had stopped running by the end and were being sick and falling over. He then gets to the final interview and does fine in that too, and guess what? He didn't get the job. And do you know why?

Because the powers that be decided they wanted to recruit more asians, so they couldn't give my mate a job, even though he was keen as mustard and made it all the way to the end. Is that not racist too?

First I'd like to say fair play Misstickle. well said...

And second a mate of mine got turned away rom the police for the same reason as mentioned above... not really on coz my mate would be great in the job... he's soft as shit in his own way but got told he wasn't conpassionate enough??? yeah whatever...

It because of racism that we're in this position now!! Because ethnic minorities have been refused jobs or have been discriminated in the work place in the past, society's now having to compensate. If prejudice ended, then we wouldn't have to compensate anymore as everyone would have a fair chance because we'd all be seen as equals.

Also, I know you probably weren't generalising when you said that "black and asians are eager to play the race card" but it did come across that way. It's like saying all single mums on council estates commit benefit fraud. A minority do, but not all. Not all black and asian people are the same, as not are all mums on council estates!

I understand the frustration with the whole PC thing, and in some cases it seems as if certain races are "getting away with it" more than others. But the only way we're going to be able to more forward progressively and stop all the hatred is to be a little more tolerant and excepting of other cultures.

ps: you didn't offend me, it's just something I feel very strongly about and an issue I thought needed to be raised!!!

I could do with some parties and especially the free love part! lol

Ive resolved my past issues and uncomfortable misplacement of where I sit. I know where I sit now, and although its an uncomfortable seat which I have learnt to sit on, I can now see a more clearer postition and have actually opened my eyes to real issues beyond the majority of your causes and can see the future they potentially endager us all to. Its a shame nobody on your planet can reach half way!.

Whens the next departure?, Id love to visit there someday

Cheerio
