My jobs not safe!

I have just come out of a long meeting with senior management and we have all just been told that basically our jobs are no longer safe...! God damn......im not too bothered cus i hate the place anyway...but i have worked for the government for 13 years and never having needed a CV or anything such like its a whole new experience now as i am keen to get out b4 i am kicked out...lol....

Any1 here been in this position and if so wot did ya do!

I've worked for IBM for nearly 10 years now & its me longest ever job (lol the next longest time was 6 months)... I'd be scuppered too coz the job roles I've had here are very IBM-centric... its like its own world... & to translate my roles into a transferable & 'non-IBM' equivalant would be frikkin hard...

to the bloody government and their overworked and shitty paid jobs...im havin the afternoon to myself and jus put me feet up....they cant seriously expect any work from any of us this afternoon!

wouldnt worry bout getting a new job hun, there not very hard to find for someone who looks, ask WAFC he picks a new one up every week, fair cop it only lasts him a week but thats usually down to him shaggin one of the birds on his section and her getting too clingy !

Recruitment agencies can find you office work perm or temp no problems, office angels and teleresources are 2 that would be interested in your cv.

doubt youll lose your job anyways hun.

Cam hun...i dont av a CV never need 1 and wouldnt av the 1st clue how to compile one......but i do have plenty of experience in many fields that could serve me well but as i say its convincing these people........

PS no redundancey for us......they say that if my job goes they will av to xfer me to a site miles away which i cant physically do cus i have other commitments so i am stuffed in a word!

You dont need a CV until you need one hun and as of yet, you dont need one but if you want anyhelp about how to write a good CV

Thanks Cam love..i think i will get on it cus if i am going to start applying for positions more often than not i will require a good cv.......

The early bird catches the worm..and if there r going to be numbers of people looking to lose jobs which is a certainty at the mo with the government in the shitty situ it is at the mo then i wanna get in there 1st!

Get everything ready in the pipeline just in case but hold out for your redundancy for deffo youll get a handsome package for 13 years specially if ya work for the government. itll prolly be at least 3 months pay.

Sorry to hear that Debs. Ive yet to find a job that I would want to stay in for more than a yr

you've done 13 years in a job you hate?

thought i was bad, been here 3 nearly 4 now, it's a dull job but pays ok. We're now on RIF 7 (redundancies) and looks like we're about to be bought out according to the press.

it does sod all for moral, everyone's of the opinion why put any effort in if you could be going next month.

I'm just milking it for as long as I can and then getting the redundancy. god knows what I'll do then, like shooms my skills here aren't really transferable and I've no real qualifications in the IT sense.

I need to start looking for something else but that's just as depressing..
