Irvine Welsh

Ive met him a few times mash up (as you do) in the club/rave scene in Edinburgh years back and also a few times at the football, and I also went to school with his nephews - he's a top clever bloke who knows his stuff. I know the books are as follows Trainspotting, The Acid House, The Malabou Stork Nightmares, Ecstasy and Glue and Porno. The books Trainspotting and The Acid House were made into films, however Ecstasy wasn't on the cards, but Porno is which is supposed to be a sort of Trainspotting 2 with Renton and Sickboy coming back together kicking off new business ventures.

Hope this helps,

Andy T

Ive read 'most' of Irvine Welsh's books (I wont say all cos I got pulled up on that last time we talked about him )

Ive seen the Acid House and its mad as f**k, Ive not seen E, so I cant say whether it exsists or not

Marabou Stork Nightmares is probably one of my favourite books proper class read, I couldnt put it down

I've read "most" of his books as well - I found MSN quite tuff going compared to the others (i think it was the way it slipped between the reality and the fantasy)

I found the bit where they take the girl back to their flat for a few days and spike her with acid etc quite disturbing to be honest - and im not THAT easily shocked

Sweet, I would be interested to hear what you thought of that chapter, from a female perspective

I'm a huge fan, and have been to see 'Filth' a reading from the book, at the Contact Theatre in Manchester twice! once with a housemate and once on a date (a strange thing to do for a date, but she thought it was cool)

I've even got a few of his audio books, for sampling purposes mostly

I've mentioned before but he's done some screenplays as well, one called "You'll Have Had Your Hole" - which I thought was amazing! but quite short at around 95+ pages..

I'd love to see more of his books made into films, esp, Filth, that was an amazing read, and am looking forward to Porno/Trainspotting 2, as they've (all the original cast) have agreed to it
