How ace is it...

... to see so many Cross of St George flags being flown... on cars, hung up in peoples windows etc etc

Only question is... how come the only time its deemed 'acceptable' to demonstrate pride & love for your country is when there's a major sporting tournament going on ??

Answers on a postcard to Kilroy Silk please....

im getting a bit sick of seeing the flags on cars now but im all for showing a bit of national pride just doesnt need to only be when the footy is on

mind you was listening to the radio last night and people are being told to take down flags from workplaces etc in case it causes unrest in the community which is a load of bullshit

also heard something about fines for people with the flags on cars - cant remember full details for that though

i'm with blue jammers housemate

years ago it meant something, it was a fucking buzz to see you're teams flag on the box. i remember seeing a wigan athletic one at mexico 86 and it was a buzz. the other best flag ever was the world famous dss scousers on tour. on the dole in control at spain 82. nowadays you even get dicks with there names on the st georges cross. so i can't agree.

Well, although Im fed up of the 'part time pride' participance thats going on, Im glad to see some England flags flying up and down.

There was a debate on the radio the other day about the danger the car flags were causing (not the plastic ones, but huge ones tied to broom handles and stuff) and I have to agree. It would shit you up enough with a plastic flag pole whacking the windscreen at 70 miles an hour, nevermind owt else more substantial.

The only thing that pissed me off about the interview was that 'Billy Brag' or whoever is name is - who was ONLY on to counter argue the saftey of the flags really - turned the whole debate into an anti British extremist rant and enlightened us all to his cookooland envisionments......what a prize cock, it was so uncalled for and turned the whole topic into something 'sinister' to bat his political happy clappy bent to the masses.

Im not too keen on brand names blazoning thier logo's over the flags in such large letters jumping on the bandwaggon to promote thier commercial wares on the back of it all, but hey, you cant have everything.

As for the arguments going around about it being 'inflammatory' - Ive never heard such utter drivel in my entire life, its the Liberals and do gooders making isues where there isnt any again. Of course, personally I dont give a flying toss if waving it offends anyone or not, but Ive seen so many taxi ranks and asian kids around here proudly displaying the flags (whether its for business reasons or wanting to will England on in the games Im not sure) that its obvious to me any 'offence' is being dreampt up by the English 'ethnic minority' obsessed politically correct madheads.

I aint got any flags, I dont give a monkeys about football at all to be honest, hahah, but yeah, I dont see why its bad to show a bit of pride now and again

Cheerio

Sirius.
