LOL! Yes I have just left my workmates after hearing the score on back shift, very very quiet.

14:00 hrs - all was talk of Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham and the likes and how tonight was supposed their full strength squad. Went for tea at 10:15 and all was silent!

The only person making any noise was the Irish supporter in the corner.

aye fella, on last nights performance we wont do well at all..

but i think they'll pull it together in the championship we were playing quite crap b4 the world cup but did well, & i defo think if our game against brazil had not been at midday in sweltering humidity we would have beaten them too and gone on to win it.
gonna put a tenner on the boys anyway come on becks' boys!!!

only thing in our favour is that england do turn up their game when playing better opposition. france will bring out the best in them.

Forget you were playing ten men for most of the second half?

England weren't good enough then and aren't good enough now.

I'm sick to death of hearing how much quality is in the squad. Some realism is required. The likes of Butt, King, Carragher, P Neville, Vassell et al ain't fit to wear an English jersey and they'll cost you dear next week. And Calamity James is due to drop a clanger.

Admittedly you're light years ahead of us in terms of international and domestic football, buy you ain't got the quality and strength in depth to beat what the rest of Europe offers in a tournament.

you've obviously never played football in that kind of humidity mate.
the brazilians and other continents are used to it, but british based players are not. brazil didnt do much till late on in the 1st half when england started to tire.
i agree that david james is a pile of poo, king carragher neville and vasell aint
good enough either. i would say that nicky butt tho, can do the holding hole as good as most, as he's proved in the last world cup and with man u in europe. i certainly wouldnt pick him over steven gerard or even lampard given his current form, but he's a good battler, defo worth a place in the squad IMO

i would have defo taken shaun wright phillips tho

LOL Easy fella, Might have known you'd have your 2 penneth we're not slating Scotland here

Admittedly we were very disappointing last night but we've always played poorly in friendlies against so called smaller countries..

We'll see come 13th July, We do raise our game for Bigger teams and Im pretty confident we can get a result..

I'm not bitter just realistic. We weren't good enough to qualify and don't deserve to be in Portugal. England won their group and do - I've got no complaints.

I've got absolutely no problems with saying England are a far better team than us with far better players playing in a far better league. A country with England's footballing history should be challenging for major honours consistently.

But we get sick of hearing about mediocrity portrayed as world beaters in the press and media. Everybody's entitled to their opinions and I just don't think England are a great team as perceived. I don't Nicky Butt for one is top class, and I don't think your manager's up to it either.

On my way to work the other day there was some bloke on talksport ranting on about how you would beat Italy in the semis, after having put Portugal and France out. FFS - I wish you would just take one game at a time, be quietly confident instead of bragging consistently - then you might get more respect from us north of Hadrian's Wall.

Yeah Grad i totally agree too fella

We somehow find that extra gear against the better teams or in games that really matter. Take the germany game for instance

We will be ok i reckon. Cant see us winning France tbh but we should get out of the group stages

Andy

Bragging??? We've nowt to brag about at the moment, god help you if we win anything

Most realistic England football fans don't get carried away, and don't believe the shit that's written in the papers, after all who wants to go along with the opinions of Harry Harris for example who led a one man campaign to oust Venables from his job entirely because of a personal vendetta due to business dealings..Personally I think if our midfield clicks we can match anyone on our day, but defensively......

As you say, its all about opinions, which are like arseholes, everyones got one of em..

btw...

Whats the view like from up there
