What are your hobbies/interests?

Excuse me if its been done before, but what are your interests and hobbies? Do any of you have any secret nerd passtimes like japanese cartoon card meetups, gardening, stamp collecting, or whatever.

I just realised I have no real special hobbies or interests anymore that broach past dance music, CAD (computer aided design) and the internet! lol. So I was wondering what u lot get upto apart from websurfing, boozing and sex .

Cheerio

Im sorry to hear that glazzy .

Lets just generalise here for a minute......say the vast majority of users here are 22 - 35, if you have no hobbies or interests to list, do you think thats due to other commitments and generally getting old?. I used to have loads of hobbies, like tennis, skateboarding, badge collecting and cubscouts when I was little, loads of stuff before the computer and work came along......now everythings computer based that Im into. Are hobbies now 'old fashioned' - "discuss" lol.

I have a few hobbies.

I love to read, both fiction and non fiction and usually have a few books on the go. I quite like reading poetry, and trying to decipher what the author meant by reading between the lines (ususally with a ton of inferrence lol).

I really enjoy gardening, and grow vegtables and fruit and make wine from alot of my produce, also have a herb garden bit that i am quite proud of as its quite established.

I collect old furniture, and as such i like looking round old reclamation yards and warehouses and doing bits up.

Boring i know, but these are the things i like to do when i have the luxury off spare time.

Skateboarding LOL

My Saturdays used to consist of- Me and my mates catching the train to town, going into Split Skates, and skating Nat West and Crown Court LOL
They were the good days
Then came clubin'
I still like to have a go at boarding, my little lad is amazed at his Dad being able to ride a skateboard
One thing that has stuck with me is playing the guitar, If I hear a tune I like I'll download the chords and learn it, which fits in with Sirus' statement that everything is computer based.
What happened to the old days when we would go out and climb trees and put up rope swings? Or was that just me

Wow Amelie, leave some stones unturned for the others!!!!!! lol.

You seem to have a fair few interests, and far from being 'boring', I think its what can give somebody character and even 'eccentricity'! My parents used to make thier own wine and grow thier own produce (a bit like Tom and Barbera Good in the Goodlife, lol) when they were in thier late 20's/early 30's. I think I could enjoy gardening if it wasnt for the bloody insects cos Im a bit unnerved by creepy crawlies. Im quite envious of your reading hobby too, I cant seem to apply myself to books anymore .

Dont suppose you want a six seater late 50's dining table, chairs and sideboard going cheap , lol.

Walshy, I used to catch the Ribble/Stagecoach x43 bus to manny nearly every weekend for £2 return purely to go to Split Skates with my mates IT WAS THE BOMB! lol, Infact I used to buy some tapes from there called 'hardcore' with those crazy digital swirl covers that were about in the very early 90's. We later used to skate the BBC Curbs (Amstrad) and cause chaos boarding down to it after we snacked out on riduculousy large amounts of french fries, McNuggets and ofcourse milkshakes or pints of milk from the newsagents! Back then, being a skater, drinking pints of milk was SO cool. .
There was some other places too, but Ive forgotten where we used to go. There was always that myth of Femi Bukalona (sp?) ollie kickflipping park benches n stuff -remeber that? lol - never met the guy though.

Do kids still do 'Hobbies' as we know it? Or is it all technology based lke Xbox and computers on the majority?

I still have my Alien Workshop 'Slick' deck with Indie's and Powel Peralta 'lemons' somewhere in the loft space under ten tons of other shite. I still get the itch to have a dabble - if only for the excercise and time away from the bloody 'puter!. Only thing is, all my local haunts have been demolished - the old ASDA has gone, my old infant school has gone, I can hardly show my face in town or park on it these days going back to basics of nollies or even the 'coffin'

There was two sections to the shop back then wasnt there.....the first bit was surf gear n stuff - which I baught some CRAZY almost dayglo 'Mystic Knights' and 'Hot-Tuna' keks My God, what DID I look like? hahaha. The lower bit through the tunnel was the boards, trucks an griptape etc.

Soon sorted that out with some more fashionable "Grind King" hooded sweats and Skate Rags keks .

Yeah the BBC curbs used to be well busy, sometimes too busy. I wasnt anywhere near as good as most the others there - I could only just dabble on those HUGE curb stones! . You had to sneak in over the black railings at the side - which added more excitement! hahah.

I used to go to Bury sports center too, to the indoor ramp -- that was an excellent ramp back then. I did my first drop in at Llandudno ramps though - the ones next to the concrete bowl. Soon I was doing backside 50/50s by fluke and just enjoyed grinding those coping bars! Made my holidays that year I reckon.

Somebody must have some more unique hobies (aside from Amelie) surely

my hobbies

i have a rather ridiculous hobby for trying to find the best quality "old skool" addidas(must be adidas) trainer. not the shit they sell in size? and stuff like that either. quality adidas stockholms in mint condition from armenia of ebay and stuff like that. if anyone anywhere ever comes accross a pair of mint condition adidas micropacers i shall gladly take them off your hands. i also like russian woman as well.

I started jogging a few weeks ago and got totally addicted, running 3 miles a night (lost a stone already ) but I`ve done my ankle in and can`t go for a few weeks so I`m now catching up on my other hobby which is collecting retro/space age furniture (If it looks like a chair from logan`s run then I buy the fecker and stick it in the lounge lol).
My fave hobby is crate digging in cheapo record shops and car boots (Today at 7.30 am I picked up forty hardcore / piano choons for £24 and a retro kartell space age stacking unit worth £250 for £20 )
Gonna start swimming next week

You lot are a fair active bunch then! lol.

PaulyP.....you lost a stone in only a few weeks?! Bloody hell. You have to do that every night though eh.... Hmmn, might have to look into that myself although I dont think Id manage three miles a night, more like one mile three times a week! lol. It would be a start anyway. I may start power walking like Harold off Neighbours for the first week though! hahah. I heard that aslong as you jog/walk for 20 minutes it does you good - otherwise you waste your time. So your house looks like somesort of crazy 70's Starwars loungeroom/canteen area throwback?? Classic .

Cam, youre a very naughty boy.......

I used to have guitar lessons an go to boxing club when I was a kid, but let them both fall to the wayside as I discovered other hobbies like women & drugs as a teenager!

I went to the local boxing gym about 2 months ago when I was in an energetic mood, but it was shut!,I've had the phone number in me phone since then but never seem to get round to ringin it cos its 3 nights a week after work an I'm always fooked after work.

I've always loved readin books, an still get stook into a good one when I get the time.

I've always wanted to try surfing or wind surfing but never got round to it.
