i presume u mean BNFL @ Sellarfield? u went for an interview with them, on a staff employment or as a contractor?
they dont have rigs that are offshore as far as i know, the rigs they did hav went when thorpe was closed down, and calder is shut now too, and nirex currently isnt getting the go ahead.
the only rig they hav at the mo, is a tiny one that they are taking pipeline out of

sorry dont mean to be pedantic, but i hate sellarfield, yes it is the local breadwinner up in that neck of the woods but its bloody corrupt as hell

And like Nathan, I've found as I've got older, I'm earning less, but to be honest, I'm not bothered, I'm happy with what I have, don't need for anything, and enjoy plenty of luxuries.

I think a lot of people associate earning a lot of money with happiness, and ok I can see that viewpoint, but I honestly don't believe it makes you happier. Granted, it gives you choices, and maybe options you've not had before.

And of course there's that old chestnut "the more you earn the more you spend..."

I owe about eighty nine grand (mortage and loan) so if I were to land a job that paid that well, I'd only need work for a year and a half and then retire

wot i meant was i wudnt work there for any ammount of money, it wud be like selling my soul. the place is rotten inside and out, everything it stands for is rotten, and the whole place is corrupt.. and i feel sorry for anyone who has to go work there to earn a living..

Yeah m8, if youve ever watched Mark Thomas's Comedy Product you would know the score on Nuclear power plants like sellafeild . Wasnt there some crazy mutant stuff developing there, three headed turtles and dodgy fish, glowing algea - I think there was thinking back......something like 80% over the official safe limit in the surrounding areas.


If you do work there or similar, Id invest in some lead material under-crackers if youre ever planning on having kids.
