chic

adonis- no way back, for me this is the epitome of chicago house, the most unrelenting bassline that you just cant get enough of.

There can't be just one though, it's impossible to narrow it to just one.

5, maybe, but even then that's pushing it!!

Phuture - We Are Phuture
Orbital - Belfast
Asmo - Jam The Dance
Dream Frequency - Live The Dream
Orange Lemon - Dreams Of Santa Anna

See there's 5 really tasty numbers, but in about 10 minutes time I'd want to change a few of them

Dream Frequency What a corker. The album version is great (or greater) too!

Best tune ever? Thats too tough.

Maybe 'Feel so Real' or One Nation by DF too.

You're kidding right?

Can't beat the 12" for clarity and also there's the lush lush and very very gorgeous 'Dreamscape I'

Bluejammer, it depends on the mood. If Im in a lets go totally crazy bonkers to banging energetic piano kinda mode, its gotta be the album version - for a spiritual 'all that makes house music' kinda mode you cant beat the original.

I baught the private pressing version of the first ep back in 1993ish second hand, proper buzzin.

The album contains a whole wealth of great tracks, One Nation is to die for. lol.

I also like 808 state Pacific State and orbital Belfast, for that same sort of chilled vibe.

I dont think Id ever have one sole favourite record, one day it could be Sunset Regime 'Real Feel' and others NRG (the one with terminator samples in). Others it could be UDG, Taboo, Seventh sense, lol. I love Asmo too, the first one with cascading piano topline is fantastic.

Ps, I never had you down as a DF peson Amelie! Would have thought it was too mundane for yas.

Sirius.

sirius, did you ever buy Love, Peace and Harmony by DF?

As one version of it had the excellent 'Satisfaction' on it, but sadly every version I tortured myself with looking at in all shops back then was the same version I already had with 'Techno Worship' on instead.

Loved the piano and acid line in 'Satisfaction' and although I did manage to get in on a bootleg, the sound wasn't as good as the original would have been...

Used to LOVE the citybeat label, and bought the compliation with Joanna Law - First Time I Saw on it, lovely stuff

Yeah I have the vinyl of LP&H with Satisfaction on! It rocks! lol

Ian Bland was a bloody god to me. The last decent one Ive heard him do was the free my mind ep, which i fortunately have. Theres a cracking Blame remix of one nation on that too. Think he succumbed to trumpet trance since though

feel so real by dream frequency you can't be for real. That screechy number? blimey. Come on everyone knows it's got to be

primal scream:- come together OR Kklass:- rhythm is a mystery

I know its cheesy, very cheesy, but the composition is truelly fantastic from a musical perspective, the singings great - non one bit screechy - well not on normal pitch anyway.

Im into allsorts of oldskool, yet somtimes when you take notice of the musical talent that has gone into a track its quite suprising, for example Black Box - Ride on time is far superior to K-Klass in that respect, Im not sayng its necesarily a better track, just theres a hell of a lot more skill in composing it.

I guess we all look through opposite ends of a perspective on what makes a good tune .
