Another Friday night in...

This is getting depressing. I haven't been out properly for what seems like forever, but at least I got another assignment out of the way tonight. 3016 words all about DJing, which was quite fun to write I suppose, compared to some of the crap I've been forced to write about over the last three years.

Here's some of the wanky assignment titles I've had...

"Sruton argues that modern music lacks the moral refinements of Mozart, Schubert and Bach. What does he mean by this and to what extent should music be concerned with morality?"

"Is a cover version of a song necessarily less authentic (and therefore inferior) to the original version? Consider in detail at least four music examples."

"With reference to at least three recent texts, outline the roles and responsibilities of the critic in the sphere of popular music. What should be the objectives of music criticism?"

"Write an account of how Harry Partch developed his own unique tuning system* and how he explained his methods and aims in Genesis Of A Music."

*Harry Partches unique tuning system was when he decided that there should be 43 notes in the octace, instead of 12. The prick.

I've had a good laugh though. One more essay to write, and then on Monday, at about 12.30 it's straight to the bar!

LOL, are they all still shitholes then? Been a while since I was out round there. I've about another 3 or 4 weeks and then I'm back to Brinscall. I've noticed that there's quite a few peeps on here from good old Chorley. I deffo be up for meeting you all some time, it'd be nice to put faces to the names and see what you're all like in real life.
