You been branching out with ya tune making? heh

Just got the new piccadilly records e-mail, and noticed this:

Quote:
Sirius B : Apresenta O Jazz Dance EP
Freestyle

Already on the playlists of Snowboy, Patrick Forge, Mike Chadwick and Gilles Peterson, this four tracker includes the batucada bomb "Samba Sevagem", original and new remix of "Sirius" (a wicked jazz-fusion speeder and future jazz-dance classic!), and catchy vocal bossa track "Bagunca". Freestyle keep up the dancefloor pressure!

12" - FSR008 - £4.99

LOL!

Yeah, Im into that whole Jazz scene daddio......nice. Im regularly down the Jaz Fusion nitespots and just cant get enough of those ethnic drum sounds ....."nice".

Yeah right, lol.

My music skills are best left in the confines of my computer . Very poor.

Hey Bluejammer, have you ever got in a 'dry spot'. Im in the middle of another one at the moment - just cant seem to get interested in even switching the gear on at the minute. I think Im distracted by a few things, and until Ive solved the distractions I dont think I can concentrate on owt, know what I mean? Havent made a bean for months now .

Any tips?

Cheers

Sirius.

No Al, even the porn factor isnt entering into the equation.....its serious! lol.

Im afraid lusty lesbian fantasies and pumpkin production dvd rips are not behind the current lack of enthusiasm this time .

I know exactly what you mean, myself and boki another guy who posts on my forum suffer this a lot.

It's weird, I can be sat at work and when it's quiet, I have all these ideas and think "right, when I get in, I'll do that" but when I do get in, as I work nights, I'm always too wasted to even go into the studio, I just sit and check e-mails, pop on here, then off to bed I go.

On my days off, which I get 4 at a time, I find it hard to get motivated to do anything, the last mix I did (oldies 3) only happened due to that freak lightening taking out NTL, so I didn't have the internet

I openly admit I'm quite sad, and watch far too many downloaded movies (curse that emuleplus) but I can't give it up, and seem to be able to fritter an immense amount of time either posting on various messageboards (34 I'm a member of now!) or watching movies/listening to music.

I think one day I should unplug my PC's from the net and just spend a month solid away from it all, it's the only way I'll get back into it (although I've been telling myself this on and off for 3 years now)

(How the fuck I've managed to put out 3 albums in 3 years I'll never know)

Broadband + Soulseek + Emuleplus = No Creativity lol

I could give you a few pointers, not sure if you've heard of WATMM? they have a lot of audio challenges on there, I've not been to their forums for a while now, but a guy there won a remix challenge I set, and as a result his remix of the title track of my second album 'thirty' featured on the last album with another guys remix of it from the big chill forums.

That might be an idea, have a bash at remixing someone elses stuff?

Yeah, I like the idea of poking around with somebody elses tune, some of my better work has been remixes of other tracks.

Yup, I think that almost every night. The older you get, the more time sort of just vanishes in a vacuum. Its wierd, you think 'ah Ive got four or five hours tonight to get my teeth into a new track' but by the time you actually do all those other little things that need doing first you just cant be arsed and the momentum has gone so even if you did switch the gear on, nothing would come out.

I think my next project, when I get rid of that distracted feeling, will be a remix or remake of a choon, not sure what yet though - something not too technical! lol.

My rooms in a tip at the minute, sort of in the middle of a massive revamp thats taking months to get round to doing anything with, shelving propped everywhere, gadgets and bags of stuff, boxes of tapes and flyers, bits of mdf and softwood, hammers, drills, jigsaws and planes etc. i think once its all new and spangly Id be able to concentrate better.

Cheerio

Sirius.
