Seedings For Euro 2004

Quote:
England have been named in the second group of seeds for next summer's Euro 2004 Championships in Portugal.

Teams have been split into four pots for the draw on November 30, with the hosts and reigning European champions France alongside Sweden and the Czech Republic in the first pot.

Joining England in the second group are European heavyweights Spain, Italy and Germany.

Holland, emphatic winners against Scotland in the play-offs, are the team to avoid in pot three as they line up alongside Croatia, Denmark and Russia.

The final qualifiers, and tournament underdogs, complete the list - Bulgaria, Switzerland, Latvia and Greece.

Seedings are based on the performance of teams in the 2002 World Cup qualifying competition and the qualifying phase for Euro 2004.

Full seedings:

Pot A - Portugal, France, Sweden and Czech Republic
Pot B - Spain, Italy, England and Germany
Pot C - Holland, Croatia, Denmark and Russia
Pot D - Bulgaria, Latvia, Greece and Switzerland
Hands up who wants to play the dutch

What about the draw then, I reckon a decent draw would be

Sweden
England
Croatia
Latvia

Avoiding the Czechs and the Dutch would be a bonus But then again im not arsed who we get really

Hope you draw the Dutch

One of my most enjoyable experiences was back in 93 (qualifying for the 94 world cup) was watching Ronnie Koeman ping one past Seaman from a free kick - when he should have been sent off earlier.

But I'm not bitter (lol)
