Thugs Blow Up Gerbil

Quote:

SICK yobs tied a baby gerbil to a firework — then launched it into the sky.

The cruel gang laughed as the gerbil was blown apart when the rocket exploded.

A group of teenagers and a man in his 20s staged the gruesome stunt after buying a pack of rockets from a shop.

The older man then went to a pet shop next door and paid £3.50 for the gerbil, which was tied to one of the rockets with an elastic band.

A passer-by then saw them firing the firework from a nearby field. Shocked Yvonne Graves runs the General Stores in Chesterton, Cambridge, where the thugs bought the rocket.

She said: “It’s absolutely appalling. If they can do that sort of thing to an innocent animal, you wonder what they are capable of.

“Two of them bought the rocket from us and even asked if we had an elastic band before they went next door and bought the gerbil.

“Someone else saw them fire the gerbil and came in to tell us.” Yvonne said the rockets had been sold by her partner Victor Ramsey, 60. She added: “He feels absolutely dreadful about it.”

Julie Brand, owner of the pet shop, said: “There was nothing suspicious about the man who bought the gerbil.

“It’s horrifying to think of the pain and the suffering of that poor little animal.”

Ms Brand is now refusing to sell any small pets before Bonfire Night for fear of copycat stunts. RSPCA officers were last night investigating the incident.

Spokesman Sari Eldridge said: “It beggars belief how anyone can do this. The animal would have had a huge amount of suffering from the pain and the noise of the firework.”

A Cambridge police spokesman added: “This was a sickening and shocking attack on a defenceless animal.

“We appeal for anyone who knows who is responsible to contact us.”
Not funny but i pissed meself

Came across this too but instead of blowing up gerbils this guy blows himself up, crazy bastid if you ask me! Check out his website and some mad photos!!

PYRO BOY!

I think the part on his website where it has a section on Advice for beginners is quite mad! Here's a quote....
We really shouldn't have to tell you this but, just in case, we're going to tell you anyway: Kids, for crying out loud, do not try this at home.

Can you imagine somebody asking what your occupation is!! LOL!!!

Personally speaking, I would have tied a rocket to the front legs and a rocket to the hind legs... the gerbil would either roast or split apart into handy bite size chunks. No imagination the youth of today.
