LOL!!................ Can I just Add.........

I dunno about freedom of Speech ect ect............ But are far as Jonno goes with his opinions of Old tunes being remixed hes a right to say what he feels ect ect and he has............. In fact I respect him for that totally.

the fact that Ben Put Up a post Re Rock and Move being Re Pressed was As I said Just to Let People Know I was re doing it and nothing more as several people have asked me for this tune and from this I thought I Would Re Do the thing.

I also thought that as I did the track in the first place at least I was re doing one of my own tracks and not that by another act and at the same time PLEASE the people that wanted the original by adding the original piano mix from 92.

Theres no egos involved in this at all as I'm only revamping somthing that I did of course in the aid of money, but saying I'll give 50 away here to those who want is due to the amount I have on Pre Order and It wont Harm me at all to do so.

I think things get side tracked myself as to the way threads go....... Easty and the lads at substance this weekend finally made me decide to do it again (and the ladies in the White Stilleto's!) whom were singing to it.

My post re bens being taken off was purely coz I thought it a shame due to the fact some may miss out on the record ect ect, I would Rather give 50 away on here that send em out to dj's as, they are to people who want (osa) as those who need (dj's)

I had other things planned to for the track, Seeing as theres 3000 plus I was gonna have A picture disc made with All the logo's of EVERY nite on Here from Timeless To Good Times and OSA ect ect, plug the nites the still play the music ect ect.

I still plan on doing that.............. even though it seems I can do no Right! LOL!!

Take Care

Voting?.. Crikey!!

The 'freedom of speech' argument happens quite a lot on most forums..

There will always be a time when somebody posts something and its either read the wrong way, or the post in question actually insults somebody.

I found this out the hard way some months back, hence my not being on the board for so long - but thankfully its been rectified and we're all mates..

However, as you can imagine.. this situation becomes more commonplace especially now boards such as this are becoming increasingly popular as newer members are appearing daily.

So nowadays, I am very carefull what I post, and I take a very good look at the threads (especially those that are several pages in length) before I actually post because there are times when somebodys actually expressed the same opinion as me. I also try to follow the 'if its not worth posting - don't post' rule.

There are a lot of users on many boards that have a habit of 'posting before they think' attitude - especially on lengthy threads. Even more so if they are new members that haven't had the chance to get to know regulars properly

If worst circumstances occur, and I actually insult someone... I always say sorry. PM or otherwise.

You'd be suprised how many people out there can insult users because of the anonimity of a forum, but somehow 'forget' that they can apologise in the same manner too....

Threads also have a habit of swaying off topic too - but that also happens everywhere, sometime with hilarious results - but I don't reckon thats a bad thing really..

I like it here, its a lot friendlier now - thats why I'm back.

I don't think we need to cast a vote cause' we all know the result it will achieve, but if a vote is cast.. we'll be arguing about it for ages.

In the meantime - peace y'all - and its good to be back!

Right, Ive read all the posts above, and Ive come to the conclusion there are five types of feelings on this:

1) Those who just like general music or music with a retro slant and like to come on here for the crack of it, spesh the chillout.

2) Those who like both new 'scouse/hard house' 'zone' and oldskool *after* say 1992, but enjoy tapping thier toes to the sounds of 88-92 too.

3) Those who are just mainly here to wheel and deal tunes in the tunes4sale bit who you hardly ever see elsewhere.

4) Those who are devoted to the sounds of '88-92 who struggle to accept a massacre of thier favourite anthems from the era, and come here to escape this type of stuff.

5) As above, but dont mind the new stuff and although they appreciate the original better, they can see a smashing tune when the hear it (mentioning no names Gaz, lol). (if that makes sense! lol)

Now, it seems to me, on top of this there is a SEVERE grey area in what year or what style can be regarded as oldskool which is left open to interpretation.
For example, I dont consider Grace "Not Over Yet" or "kendo nagasaki" as oldskool dance music - but they are OVER EIGHT YEARS old now!!!!!! and other might do.

I suppose what Im getting at is although it may segregate us into more compartments, perhaps a few splitlines in the last decade or so should be put up. If there can be a special category for 'waffling' about what somebody belched up for breakfast, I dont see why it cant be done in other areas too.

For example, 1987-1993 area, 1994-1998 area, etc, or more simplistically a "New Music Chat" area where poeple can safely post about new tracks and not get a barrage of abuse for it - if you dont like it, dont reply to it - infact if it makes your blood boil that much - dont even enter that bit of the site. Easy. Freedom of speech is intact, and overly abusive (Ie your track fukkin sucks dude, what a bag of shite compaired to 1992 etc) and threatening replys (ie Do another remix m8 and Ill hunt you down like a dog) are delt with without removing the whole topic for others.

In the evolution of music, like it or not, it will come to a point where 'scouse house' tracks are considered 'classics' and when they get over 5 years old it could be classed as OldSkool too to the general joe public - so this site would discriminate against these people cos they cant post.
Just like theres not very many posts about 1987 and 1988 in the music chat, eventually the current 1991-92 chat will evolve into mostly 1993 chat I suppose.

I dont know what the answer is, perhaps a general music chat or New Release area is needed for the likes of Dido and Dj Sammy too....lol. I know its an 'oldskool' board, but WHAT exactly is OLDSKOOL? and who defines it? (as mentioned above).

Cheerio

Sirius.

Fk it ive stuck me tuppney bit on every other thread so i might as well on this one too.

I reckon that there shouldnt be a ban on subjects however if the people adding opinions on that subject get out of control and start having personal digs at other members then a week ban should be imposed on that individual, that way by the time they get back on, the thread is history and everyones moved onto a new subject.

Should it be brought back for further abuse which i cant see anyone doing then another week ban and so on.

I think theres quite a few who arnt happy at not being able to talk about stuff thats relevent to there life style now such as makin new tunes ect....

However im not arsed either way cause i dont make tunes and I dont listen to new stuff unless PM sends it me cause i still worship the ground that bloke walks on :p

Besides if you wana talk about new tunes why not wack it in the waff room all threads get deleted in there and if you dont like what you see dont go in ??????????

Im sure the Waff regulars dont give a toss if you ripp each others throtes to bits over whos remixe what :p :p :p :p

Thats my bit for now

I love you all

But

Not as much as you love me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :p

Probably the most workable compromise for Butty and the Mods would be a New / general music area.

With a warning that you enter this room at your own risk LOL.

I would just like to take this oppurtunity to tell you i love you all.

The Solution is simple

1. Don't make anymore new music. - You can't talkabout it then
2. Kill Cam - Enough Said
3. Get a serious crack habit = You'll have to sell your computer for the shit and won't give a toss.

Simple as that

The way I see it the issue here isn't about music, it's about attitude. One of the main reasons I stopped coming on here was because 90% of the threads ended up in petty, needless bickering! Jesus - if I wanted agro every time I opened my mouth I'd have got a soddin girlfriend!

If you've taken the time and effort to create a board, developed it and watched it grow into something special only to see it needlessly fall apart around you and for it to become more trouble than its worth to keep going the temptation to say 'sod it' and hit the delete button is increadible (I know cause the board I've been running for the past year and a half is getting to that stage now).

But instead of packing it all in, or standing idly by while things get worse Butty has stepped in, taken charge, identified the main flashpoint that kicks off the rows and has taken steps to remove it - attracting no-end of personal grief for himself by doing so.

And the most unbelieveable thing of all: hardly any of you seem to realise that it has worked!!!

This place has chilled out loads, people are having a laugh, meeting up, going out for big nights out and generally having a great time again - the way it should be.

Just because I put out any cigarettes before I drive into a petrol station doesn't mean I've got a thing against smoking - I just don't want to get blown up!

ive thought about packin it in many a time. just for the simple fact as to why shud i pay a ton a month for a big dock off headache. it isnt my job it i dont get money from it its my hobby.

all i ask is that people trust me to do whats right for my forum. yeah i aint gonna please everyone with what i gotta do but thats life.

i aint got anything against anyone on this forum just somtiems its made to look that way. do yas really think i enjoy making up rules - i do them because i have to not coz i want to. like tigger said i built this place up from scratch - imagine if u did it and then seen it turn into 'all the other forums out there' - what would you do? you would do something about it i reckon.
