Watching was first broadcast on 5th July 1987, this Granada TV comedy starred Paul Brown and Emma Wray as dysfunctional on/off couple Malcolm and Brenda. Quiet biker Malcolm was joined on his birdwatching trips by loud scouser Brenda, who was forced to ride in his sidecar. The 53 episodes were written by Jim Hitchmough and produced by Les Chatfield. The theme song, What Does He See in Me?, was performed by Emma Wray. Malcolm married Lucinda, though they broke up. Eventually, in the final edition, 'Knotting,' shown on 4th April 1993, Brenda and Malcolm married each other.
