Here's a question for you -

How many of you were hoping that that lad would slip when he was hanging upside down off the railing over the dancefloor?

here's another one -

How many of you would have caught him?

Good call mate!, but IMHO there was only "ONE" MC from the Gallery (and no, I'm not talking about "MC Shakey" either!!) it has to be the man like DMO!!!!..

Lets have Sequins finest - MC Iggy, MC AJ and Impact.

Reckon it'd be hard finding Iggy, and difficlt to get Shelleys MC master Lethal Lee to MC again but I reckon AJ and Impact shouldnt be too hard to fid and there sheeet hot

First & foremost, I thought the sound system was much better on boxing day so I'd deffo keep that.

As for the dancers - I'd definitely bin them - I don't want to see someone trying to look beautiful doing all their rehearsed & choreographed dance moves on the balcony - I'd much rather see the average clubber, off their box who really loves the tunes - far better IMO. Thought they detracted from the atmosphere rather than added to it - most people were just standing looking at the stage with bemused smiles when before everyone had been buzzin off each other & generally rocking.

Think Tigger was right saying MC's have got to be in moderation - and it also depends what sort of Dj is on at the time, on the harder stuff like DJ SY etc. they fit in alright, but someone shouting their way through Vertigo's set - not my cup of tea.

Late license - definitely if you can get one, I know its easier said than done & I'm sure you've already looked into it.

Admission price - couldn't give a monkeys - its only once every 5 weeks!

RJ's point about lighting improvements also a good 'un, but don't know how easily that can be changed - presume the club is responsible for that although maybe you could add your own?

& whenever you get coachloads of peeps like the Chester lot keep on at them to come back! Its been so much better with a big turnout the last couple of months - Its all our responsibility to not just turn up, but get more people to come - Its the peeps that make the night!!

thanks for all your comments peeps .. much appreiceted and theyll all be taken into consideration ...

as for the late license its not poss with the club being in a residential area .. shuttin at 2 keeps the police off the clubs back .. last thing you need is them outside when the night finishes , then theres the complaints from all the people livin round the club .... would love to stay open till 3 tho , but it aint gonna happen not for the forseeable future anyways ..

I'm living in Kingston, Ontario. Its half way between Toronto and Montreal, on Lake Ontario.

And its bloody freezing at the moment. Lots of snow though which i like. Getting tired of having to shovel the driveway everyday though.

Looking foward to some English rain, fish n chips, Mumtaz Curry, GT, seeing friends and family and the likes...................

Tis a damn shame you cant get a license till 3am, cos it would make such a difference I dont think you should put the price up for just an extra hour...you could charge more when you have a big name DJ on or when the nights a bit special e.g boxing day.

Defo get rid of the dancers, I agree with Tall Paul there, they ruin the atmosphere rather than create it...and I missed dancing on that balcony Waste of money...

I think having some peeps play from here would be a wicked idea (spesh now you have that extra hour to fill ) There are some right dark horses on here....init Tall Paul !! :p I think that it would also attract more people from here to go...and also give the night a more varity of old skool.

You defo need to sort the sound out, its been better at the last two, but if I remember rightly wasnt there a few probs at the start of boxing day ?? Also where have the lasers gone, I used to love them when I used to go to the Orbit and theyve been there for a bit at some GTs ??

Also sort the temperature out in there...it was bloody freezing for hours, I kept asking the barstaff to turn off the air conditioning...they would sell more booze if it werent so cold..and on that point (not sure if you have a say in this) but more choice at the bar would be good

Also and this is from the man himself - get Vertigo on again he told me he really enjoyed it and would love to come back and play again

I think the hardcore room is a good idea - I have not yet ventured into that room cos Im not into happy hardcore..but if you got djs on who played proper old skool hardcore I would defo get me butt in there altho it would be nice to hear more of it in the main room, its been sneaking in a bit lately and its all been good

Hmmm MCs - not too sure about this, they are ok and can get the crowd pumping if they know when to mc and when to shut up...the one near the end of boxing day was quite amusing, sounded like he was selling meat at one of them meat vans !! It made me laugh anyway !! Maybe if you had them on at certain parts of the night..and not the whole time..

Anyway thats just my opinion, hope some of it helps

Sweet xx

NO !!!!!!!!

Ben, dont fill up the club with day-glow wannabe dancer. I did that at a night I ran in york.....Dam near killed the place m8

Dancing should come from the heart and soul of the people that go there and dance to the tunes with there passion for the music. Not for the welth of some possers who would be dancing for some other cheesie shit if the price was right

The balconie at GTs is the heart and soul of that club (Always has been ) if you stop the people going up there, you will lose your most devoted followers, and be back a square one....

Sorry for angree opinion....but I would hate to see this happen to GTs

As for the MCs.....I have never heard one yet that does owt for me. But then thats my opinoin, I would never have somone babbling shite over my set. Then again there are other people that like that sort of thing, so I guess you have to way up the choices

3am finish -- I could be wrong hear, but dont the Orbit nights finish at 3am at the After dark

Still love the idea of having a separate room for diffrent styles of old skool, but why not try doing all sorts of old skool styles in ther, and not just hardcore ( ie old skool D&B ). I have a lot of contacts for good Hardcore & D&B DJs if you want to give us a bell. I know a lot of people on this site will turn there noses up at the thought of anything other than piano classics of the 92 era, I myself love these tunes.....but there are other types of old skool out there, and IMO it can only be good for GTs to put the second room through some experimental changes why it is still new.

As for RJs point on a better lighting system and sound system, I have to agree 100 percent, this is somthing that as always let down the After Dark club. You only have to look at any old review, in any dance mag to see that !!!. IMO, drop the go-go wannabe's, and spend the money on the sound system

GoodTimes is one of the best nights I been to in my life, and Morley ( second only to the Gallery ) is my fav club of all time

Ben & Mik......you have done a wicked job so far in bringing back the glorry days of this club, and I thank you for giving me the chance to re live some of them well tresured moments.

Keep the night the way it is suposed to be, for the good of everyone who loves it so much

Cheers

M Jaxx:

and on our sound system .. it has actually been improved think it was sometime in late november .... and as for the lights there the rig they have is top as long as youve got someone there that knows how to use it !!! you should see the desk has got fekin 100's of buttons and swtiches , none of which i know what they do!!! lolol !! the guy we norm have on the lights is still learnin ya see as its about knowin the music also .. ie when the tune breaks and stuff etc etc , as hes used to bangin techno which is a bit diff from old skool ... any way over the next few months we shall be sortin out all these little probs that we have ..
