The Syndicate, Blackpool

What does everyone think about that new superclub opening in Blackpool - The Syndicate, (Shit name init). I don't know if anyone has seen the outside but it looks top, with metal and chrome all over it. It's a converted Cinema on 3 floors, and it's meant to be massive inside holding about 4500 people. They've been advertising on MTV yet they've no decent d.j. lineup for the opening night!?!. They've got DJ FUBAR who used to be the dj from the Bizness and Main Street which is now The Waterfront. Top looking club though, bit cheesy calling it a superclub. I personally don't think many locals will pay £25 to get in. They must be planning on loads of people from out of town going. I don't think it will be a big success, I'd be surprised if it is.

Hard working Northerners should know better than to stump up over 20 quid just for admission. What do they think it is?. I'd want a four course meal and a bottle of wine included for that!. Nevermind obviously extortionate drinks prices once in......

Sounds interesting. Not saying I wouldnt go if the music policy is OK, but I dont think I could stomach paying that more than 4 times a year, I like a bargain me......lol. I hope it works out for them, but you cant help wondering if they have done thier research properly

Manufacturing = Sales Abroad = Imported Money = Jobs
UK = Dieing Manuf'g Industry = North especially up the swanny
Northwest up the swanny = No money to stump up £25 entry

Simple. You cant run a country on the tourist industry etc....not all Blackpoolers are raking it in Im sure of that.

(Butty, wheres your "tight fisted northern c*nt" smilee? I need one for myself lol)

If theres an old skool night it might be ok, but if it adopts 'Superclub' principles ie having to wear shirts and shoes, then it'll just be another Cream or Crasher - Not my thing.

Thats it m8!. I dont mind stumping up 15 quid for a decent retro night, and is more reasonable than 25 quid - but I hate the shirt and polished shoes crap, I feel uncomfortable and a right tit ponced up like that.

Sirius.

When I got told it was £25 I thought it was a bit steep, £12's a lot more reasonable. I hope it's not smart trousers & shirt, cause they'd be shootin themselves in the foot. I can't see it lasting if it is. Hope it goes well though, it's about time we had a decent club night back in Blackpool. Apart from the odd night, it's been shit for 4 or 5 years now.

I can see it being shirt (and tie!) because Blackpool is attempting to change its image in general (according to the news!). It will be fancy casino's, fake sphinx's and pyramids, a double Vegas.
Out will be: the Candy Floss, Big Tits and False Bums, Saucy Postcards, posing pouches in sweet vending machines, and all the other funny things which, to me, is a real shame.

Good luck to the place anyway.
