AFAIK- there are very few laptops where you can connect decks without an external sound interface/soundcard.
I use an M-Audio Audiophile, which does the job very well, I have to say.

I use this for the radio and recording on the lappy and i've no complaints Buy Edirol Edirol UA1 EX USB 24 Bit Interface at Chemical Ltd

Made by Roland too

EDIT: Actually I ditched this in the end because I started getting radio interference and couldn't sort it out, so I don't recommend it.

Send a message via MSN to newyorker
u dont need nothing fancy. i converted a load of oldskool vinyl into cds

i just ran 1 deck into my mixer then line out(mixer) to line in on pc soundcard.
worked fine... i just found the right levels coming out of the mixer to pre amp it and then recorded into cool edit or something...
i did it on a cheap sound card at the time. but the recording was still sound..
theres kits for doing this but its a farse..u only need a phono Y splitter to headphone size and you are offski..
