matt bell & chris baker @ club fluid - bolton

I'll just start by saying:

OMG!!! WHAT A NIGHT!!!!

Set off with the usual suspects about 9:00ish and got to the club in no time. Got there before 11:00 so it were free in not many ppl in but it was only early.

We all got our drinks and started off the night, the venue was a nice little bar, nice long bar big dancefloor then seating near the doors. Oh and a racing arcade game which me and hikkyb jumped straight on (gaz won)

Ppl were now slowly comin into the club, Rhythm FX was on the dex starting things off (and nicely i might add ) playin some nice piano tuneage inc. selector, fpi project and other italo beasties.

Time was now bout 11:30ish and the club was still a bit ded, but after a quick cig outside on my return into the club it was absolutely hammered!!! Everyone in there was well up for it

12:00 came and Matt Bell stepped up to the dex, playin a fooookin amazing set, not one shit tune . . . the whole place was bouncing around the club, the atmosphere was unbelievable . . . tunes of this set for me had to be soulmasters, derry hall, back to the future first time i've heard matt dj in a club and it blew me away

Then after matt's set chris jumped on the dex with matt and started their b2b session. Pulling tune after tune after tune!!!! each mix was more uplifting than the previous at this point the place was absolutely rammed and not one person was sat down, everyone was dancing their assess off

Then chris baker went at it alone, starting his set off nicely with dynamic express - the next train niiiiiiiiice

then the rest of chris's set took me by surprise, a set full of all mi fave synth tunes playing such beasts as:

inside out - keep on dancing
tom wilson - bounce your body
hurricane - power to jump

i was well smashed at this point and sweating like a baboon up on the stage, every tune that came on I held up a piece of paper that just simply said

TUNE

The crowd were loving it and so was I The only thing that i thought may have spoiled the night a bit was 3 MC's on but all 3 were spot on, doing there bit to get the crowd goin i little dribs and drabs . . . not over doing it

Big shouts to the OSAers that made the trip over:

My lot:

Veee saw ya dancing to derry
Hikkyb well up for it as usual (first on the dancefloor)
VA Just being VA
Antz, full of cold but survived the night
Betty Spaghetti - good to see ya again
Big Sam - cheeres for the exchange in vinyl
Zebbedy - bout time ya came out
Gemma (nob) - nice to see ya

OSAers:

Joanie-Mil - bet ya glad ya came out
Davey - i'll remember ya one of these days mate, lol
davey's mate - dont know ya name mate

Where was the likes of:

Biskit & Mrs
Oldskooldazed(al)
ilovepiano
sy69
cano & trace

you lot would have well enjoyed yaselves . . . soz if i've forgot anyone memory is a bit unstable lol

This really had to be one of the bests nights i've been to in a long time!!! The dj's were second to none the crowd were well up for it (no bad attitudes all night) i hope another is on the cards

Top marks for the promoters SMOKE & DANNY NEWBOLD who just put on one hell of a night, and should be well buzzing with the way it all went SMOKE nice to meet ya, your a top guy

Please, Please, Please do another one of these nights so everyone who didn't make it to this one can go to the next trust me ppl you wont be dissapointed

Time came for us to get back to the house and start the mash up as usual, which is still on going nicely

Big thanks to ANTZ for being the designated driver really appreciated it mate, its nice not to drive for once

to sum all up at the end of the day it was one top night and ya really needed to be there to get the full effect

See ya's all at the next

p.s please tell me that the night was recorded????

well what can i say me and danny worked our arses off for this night and it truly payed off big time the night was amazing the atmosphere was electric you couldnt of put a price on that atmosphere poeple were literally screaming when tunes kicked in.

anyway met matt bout 8.30 he followed us down to bolton got there rhythm fx stepped up played an amazing set with some good italo piano classics such as fpi project, expose and other classics well done and big up chaddy for your help m8

then i entered upon the decks a bit nervous but with some words of encouragement of the master matt bell i flew through my set excellent i thought playing tunes such as

bassheads-is there anybody out there
xl rhythm-brothers and sisters
kc spirit-everybody move
plus many top italian piano tunes

then the main man stepped up and shook the club with tune after tune after tune my highlight of the night was when he kicked in gongo-masterblaster
eveerybody was just screaming it was unreal top set matt

then chris baker came on and some top 93,94 italian daddys such as

deviation crew-here it is
aladino-make it right now,etc

then danny stepped up and played some top italian tunes

overall the night was a success and me and danny are well pleased with ourselfs

thanks to everyone that came to happy days we couldnt of done it without you especially the preston massive
