Weird Clicking Sound

This post is gonna sound really stupid but its been a problem I've had since I bought my new computer and its a bit shit really, now dont get me wrong I'm not a noob when it comes to computers I've built umpteen and pretty much spend most of my life sat at one and messing around with one in one way or another. Basically the problem is my computer makes a clicking sound, sometimes its every 10 minutes or so, sometimes it can be a few times in a few minutes, but it never goes away...ever. Normally this wouldn't bother me but apart from reading somewhere recently that it could possibly be caused by a virus or adware sending information (none of which are picked up by AVG or Spybot), I'm more bothered about it being audible when I rip tunes or record a mix. Maybe its a dodgy soundcard, I have no idea. There must be someone on here more geeky than me thats come across this problem before

Aye yeah mate exactly like the back button click, I never thought it might be a webpage problem, I'm using firefox atm and it still does it but i havent checked whether it does it just on the desktop or whether it only does it while the browser is open. cheers butty I'll sit and stare at the screen for half an hour and see if that solves it. got nowt better to do...lol
