Cant hear properly!

Dont say its my age

Right, basically, today I have had my new PC (thanks Woody) set up

and since it has been up and running I can hardly hear my music . The icon on bottom right of screen for volume is set to max, the speakers themselves dont have a volume adjustment on but were always ok before with old pc, and the winamp window volume fader is also set to max, yet I can barely hear the music

Any ideas?

ta

Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices

Then a little window will pop up. Click Advanced on the in the middle where it's marked Device Volume. That should open another window with loads of sliders on it that you can arse about with.

Hope that helps!

How do the speakers plug in (USB, or just into the speaker hole at the back of your PC)? Did they have any drivers with them? I've got a similar problem with my speakers, this PC doesn't seem to know they are there. I just plug headphones in when I want to listen to something properly. Your old speakers may just be incompatible with your new PC?

I use this to pump up the volume, might help? Also do you use winamp? if so check the volume on it, if volumes down on mine it turns the sound down on my whole pc.
