On February 12th Pacha London plays host to another edition of Fathers of House, a series of events celebrating global house music heroes from past and present.
After an amazing performance from Chicago's Marshal Jefferson in January we return to the windy city to present the legendary Farley Jackmaster Funk.
Farley started DJing at Chicago's Playground in 1981, where he held a residency until 1987.
What makes him a Father of House is the 1986 with the hit 'Love Can't Turn Around' which featured the awesome vocals of Darryl Pandy and took dance music out of the clubs and into the charts and broke down the preconception of dance music. Along side his DJing career he was also a member of the much famed 'Hot Mix 5' DJ team and was responsible for the ground breaking mix shows on Chicago's WBMX radio station which reached over a million listeners.
Gigs in the UK are rare these days but his production is still causing a stir with hits such as last years 'The Acid Life' still hitting the mark!
