| Hi Noel, I believe Track 06 = Debra Lewis "New Love Affair" (Shell Records, Shell 2 UK?) Anyway, this record was reviewed by Graeme Park in the Record Mirror magazine of September 29, 1990, amongst other classy choons reviewed as well by the Man. And if I may quote GP "this release stands out from the disgustingly large pile of records I have to plough through each week, simply because it sounds (almost) refreshingly different. 'New Love Affair' shows off Debra Lewis' excellent strong soulful voice backed up by some of the sweetest backing vocals this side of the Atlantic, over a familiar uptempo funky break beat with loads of subtle little piano and string bits (...)" |

| And if I follow the same pattern of thought, I believe trak 7 COULD be Voices "I'm your freak" (Canadian Blast Records BL 012), "which starts off OK, then suddenly explodes into one of the wildest post-Komix-Dionne-type disco-techno tunes I've heard in yonks" (GP, RM 09/29/90, op. cit.). By the way, Graeme also reviewed the Eleanor Johnson "Reach out " in that same late September Record Mirror edition ... ![]() |
