Sat August 28 – Grande Finale – Haçienda Reunion – Park and Pickering - Sankey Soap

Its happening, 28th August at Sankeys..

Whos up for this one then..?

Quote:
"TOP Manchester club Sankeys Soap is ten years old this summer - and the occasion will be marked with a mammoth ten weeks of partying.

With this year's Warehouse Party being cancelled, the Sankeys and Tribal Gathering team have decided to throw all their energies into making each Friday and Saturday night over the summer special.

So, starting on June 26, big name DJs like Dimitri From Paris, Darren Emerson, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, Francois K, Derrick Carter and Groove Armada will drop by to play sets.

And the festivities will continue until August bank holiday, when old Hacienda heroes Mike Pickering and Graeme Park will come together for a long-awaited reunion.

Sankeys, a former soap factory in Ancoats, opened its doors as a club in 1994 and has since become one of the UK's best known medium-sized dance venues.

The club closed in 1998, but when it reopened in October 2000, its regular nights Red Light and Tribal Sessions quickly established themselves.

“The last ten years have gone too quickly on Jersey Street," said Sankeys promotions manager Sam Kandel.

"In a way, it’s tempting to reel off lists of DJs and artists that have performed at the club, but somehow it doesn’t seem the right place.

"This moment is about so much more than the man behind the turntables," Kandel continued.

"It’s about two generations of Manchester music lovers scurrying down a deserted Ancoats street, huge vacant buildings towering either side of them, moving towards an excited queue of people just like them.”

Sankeys ten weeks of birthday parties are as follows:

Sat June 26 – Opening Party - Dimitri from Paris
Sat July 3 – Miguel Migs
Sat July 10 – Erick Morillo
Sat July 17 – Groove Armada
Fri July 23 – Back to Basics loves Sankeys
Fri July 30 - Francois K
Sat July 31 – Bugged Out featuring Felix da Housecat
Sat August 7 – Underwater & Circus featuring Darren Emerson
Sat August 14 – Chibuku Shake Shake – Audio Bullys
Fri August 20 – Sasha
Fri August 27 – Derrick Carter + LTJ Bukem
Sat August 28 – Grande Finale – Haçienda Reunion – Park and Pickering"

I'd like to think it'll be 1987-1990, as that is the best era where they both peaked (IMO) but it could be anywhere bet 88 and 94 i'd imagine.

I'm hoping for back to back acid classics and some serious basslines, heh, maybe they should get Dreamgirl there as standby
